Support more storage options

There are 2 type of markets:

Group#1: You have the none-techincal people, who just want to turn everything on, and start using it as a "for dummies" style. Everything is simplifed and beautifully presented to them without need to know all the technical stuff. They are welling to pay a reasonable fee for making their life easier.

Group#2: On the other hand, you have the computer geeks, like myself, would prefer my recordings goes to local NAS and then automatic synced to my OneDrive, this way I get a copy locally and a backup copy in my cloud. I know how to configure it, am familar with troubleshooting if have a problem. and frankyly I couldn't care less about the the nice interface after it has been configured. And i don't want to pay for more money when I already got tens of GB of cloud storage available at my dispose.

I see Arlo is satisfying only group#1, and making some money off the subscription. But I think group#2 would prefer an IP camera over Arlo partly due to the space limitation. If Netgear can support pushing recording to various cloud storages (local NAS, OneDrive, Amazon Cloud, Dropbox...etc), then you might get more share of group#2 market.

I use Arlo Cam System for video surveillance the best thing is that all the cmera are wireless so in case of electric outage they still work and with a UPS also the station still work, but they can't record on the cloud, so in this case my video surveillance have a vulnerability. Instead if could be possible to record locally my system ssurveillance sytem should be more reliable.

Fledgling

Still no local storage option? At least let us record to a Netgear NAS.

Come on guys, there are SEVERAL threads all requesting local storage.

The amount of kudos in each one of them should make you guys act now.

If you're afraid about losing business - and I think you would actually GAIN business because many people refrain from using your cameras because of the insecurities of having bricks hung to your walls once your intnernet connection drops - there are several ways to work around this.

You could only make this available to existing paying customers, for example... there are many ways.

But your product would gain SO much in value.

I'll be switching my 8 arlo cams (more were planned) if this isn't implemented soon.

Very disappointing.

How annoying, I planned to purchase this 3 camera Arlo system tomorrow, but I will be using it to save video footage in a Vehicle (the power supply for the Hub is 12v 👍) so I would have needed to store footage on a SSD which I had hoped would be fed from the USB ports (what are they for then??) gutted as not only have I wasted hours trying to investigate this, it's a complete waste of a great system! Bl**dy rediculous!!

It needs Local storage or I will not be buying.
There is no way on earth I'd be storing anything on any cloud system.
How rediculous not to allow SSD storage.
First thing a Theif will do is snip the phone line, then it's instantly useless.
Before anyone buts in, I have looked at the power supply for the Base Station and mine would be fed by a 12V Leisure Battery on a trickle charger so cutting my power would be pointless.
What a disastrous waste of a really good system (otherwise).
Please would the Staff and Engineers read these bl**dy Community pages as there are literally hundreds (maybe thousands but I got bored of reading the same comments) of people saying the same thing!!! Most haven't bothered to Kudos anything.....

As a recent purchaser - this is essential for me. NAS local storage is a must. An Arlo sticker on the door means a thief knows he can cut the Internet and then come and go as he pleases. That's ridiculous.

1) Option to record to NAS

2) Backup power (see MyFox, for example)
