Hi. I'd like to request that you please add HomeKit support to the Arlo Video Doorbell ASAP. I have three Arlo Pro 3 cameras, and actively use HomeKit support with that model. The only missing piece of the puzzle is the Arlo Video Doorbell. Thank you in advance!

First of all, Arlo is great in theory. A wireless camera that is accessible from anywhere in the world with an internet connection? Wonderful!
But in reality, it's a system that is more gadget gimmick, than a useful, usable security option.
However, if you could make this one change in the system, I'll deal with the usability issues on the app; I'll deal with the limitations of the camera settings; the lag in response to motion; etc., etc... If you could just make it so that the camera starts recording on motion and doesn't stop until the motion stops (with a user setting for max mins), then I'd finally be satisfied.
Otherwise, here's how it works now, and an example of what I actually get: A UPS truck pulls up, and Arlo kicks in (late) and starts recording after the truck is already parked (very annoying), but then I get 30 seconds (my setting is 30 secs) of the truck sitting there as the driver gets the package from the back. Then Arlo shuts down, the driver gets out with my package and walks up my driveway (about a 20 second walk) at which point Arlo is starting up again for another 30 second clip. Arlo starts up again and then records 30 seconds of the driver already walking away after dropping the package at my front door.
If this were an intruder or someone "casing the joint" I'd never get an image of his face. Is that a real security system?? Now, if I could set Arlo to stay on and record until the motion stops or my setting (I would choose 5 minutes) I would get all the footage I need. Battery life wouldn't matter to me because 1) if the motion stopped at 15 seconds, the recording would stop or; 2) if I could capture real "show-to-the-cops-footage" I wouldn't care if I had to replace the batteries more frequently.
That said:
PLEASE CHANGE ARLO TO STOP RECORDING ONLY AFTER THE MOTION HAS STOPPED OR BASED ON OUR USER PREFERENCE!!! Thanks!
Anyone agree or experiencing the same? Please chime in and hopefully the folks at Arlo make it happen!

I would love an option where arlo would remind me when my cameras are disarmed for a certain amount of time. I often disarm my cameras when I am out shoveling the drive way or mowing the lawn. I often forget to re-arm the cameras when I am done and miss recording activity. It would be great to have an option to have arlo send me a notification if my camera has been disarmed for more than X hours.

A lot of new "smart" products have IFTTT support, it makes them smarter. The Homeboy (where I assume Netgear ripped the idea for this product) has solid IFTTT support, so you guys should add it to beat them. Thanks.

Having spoke to your Chairman and CEO on email they agree that this is a major problem for multiple camera users. Before the update A user could tell immediately by scrolling down and simply looking at their iPhone how much charge each of their cameras had left. Now to check out that data on 32 cameras I have to make 96 clicks (clicking the three dots then the device settings then the back arrow to see whether a battery needs replacing? Why would you do this? If you are going away for the week or two you need to replace or charge all batteries on Less than 40% / 50% you simply can’t wait for a notification on 15%. Why because you are not there. Simply scrolling you could tell which needed charging and didn’t have to click 96 times and if you forget or get distracted you have to do it all again. A massive oversight sonolease can you put this back. I also noticed last night a camera message came through telling me I only had 15% juice left yet it didn’t mention which of the 32 cameras it was? Again do I really need to make up to 96 clicks to check? Only this morning when a 10% message came through did it mention the exact camera and if I’m going out how can I charge it? Thanks

I see a lot of great ideas here, but very few of them have comments from Netgear employees. Could we at least get some sort of status assigned to these ideas by Netgear? Otherwise it seems like nothing is happening. Something like: Pending review Investigating Accepted Rejected Completed

I really liked the camera its just missing the autodetect if im in range or not, I know canary camera is doing it but I heard that the firmware and support are not good. Here to support and push for the fence/in range idea. My problems of setting up rules with schedule is that during weekends im always in and out and its kinda tedious amr/disarm the system. Here to support and push for the fence/in range idea.

Hi there,
there is a product that I nearly purchased, sent to me from iPhone magazine, it's called "Skybell WIFI Doorbell"
Which is obviously a doorbell with a camera that communicates with your router & smartphone, and not only can you see the person, you can talk to them too. Plus it was waterproof. I thought I really want something like that, but what stopped me buying it was it was not totally wireless like the Arlo systems I have bought. It needs to connect to a physical power source, not battery powered, so given that total wireless was the main reason for my netgear Arlo purchases, I couldn't buy that doorbell system.
I really hope that Netgear and their Arlo team come to up with something similar, as I would definitely buy one if it was available.
Cheers
Ross

I get alerts that there is motion occurring. I have a camera at my front door. There are no windows, and I would like to know who is ringing my doorbell. It would be nice to have the option to have an image sent with the alert. It takes awhile to open the app and play the video. I guess a snapshot or delayed live stream accessible with one click would do it. Using iOS.

Highly recommend moving from flash to HTML5. Many work provided mobile devices restrict app installing and since Android and Apple don't have flash support so you cannot stream the cameras through browsers. Flash has become very restricted in its support. Moving to HTML5 would solve a lot of issues and provide better future compatibility. Greg

Lets get the app updated so the Alexa can speak the Alro's motion detection alerts. I appreciate the phone notifications, BUT if I'm in my home walking around I normally don't have my phone on me and would like to be vocally notified if there's motion detected around the outside of my home without having to go through lengthy IT "hacks" to get Alexa to vocalize the detection. I believe it would be a beneficial and a great way to upsell your system. Hoping this gets added soon

I love the fact that Arlo cameras are 100% wire-free but I would also like to see a powered camera offered so I don't have to worry about buying batteries for cameras that are in locations where there is an accessible wall outlet.

Please find a way that folks can get rid of the purchase additional camera Screen For those of us that only want 4 cameras and not 5. I would prefer to have the four cameras only appear on my computer monitor. But now I have three smaller camera screens on top and one camera screen on the bottom with the annoying purchase camera screen next to it. We all know we can buy additional cameras but if we dont need them we are left to view that screen forever.

I understand that Arlo does not currently support control with the Google Home or streaming with the chromecast. My question is why not, and is it on the to-do list? You have already done it with your other partners like Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, IFTTT, etc. You have the infrastructure in place for talking to other web services, so why not partner with Google? It would expand your market to all of the people who use Google's products, like myself.
In fact, IFTTT and SmartThings are already partners with Google themselves. So sure, you could use IFTTT or SmartThings to control you Arlo through the Google Assistant/Home, but you cannot do what your other smart camera competitors are doing my partnering directly with Google and their services.
For example, you could ask your Google Home to show you your front door on your TV.
"Ok Google, show me the Front door on the TV."
Or ask the Google Assistant on your phone to pull up the feed on your screen.
These are all things that you can do with other products. So why not Arlo? Why hold back?

I think adding audio to your amazing video quality would just be icing on the cake and a highly desireable feature that would significantly contribute to the Arlo Smart Home Security system standing apart from any other product in this market space.
