Our installation will be very remote beach house. There is a need for mains failure detection in case intruder has deliberately switched of the power. This would be a nice sofware update feature.

Because of Arlo's excellent video quality and excellent field of view I am able to see most of a large room/outdoor area with one camera. Unfortunately this tends to minimize the effectiveness of the motion detection as the camera tends to be more centrally located and so it does not detect something/someone until it is halfway or more across the room/area if it detects it at all. This leaves users with the undesirable options of either compromising their camera placement to accomodate motion detection or using an entire camera exclusively as a motion detector with little to no useful function as a camera. This latter scenario is a situation for which the camera is over-qualified and overpriced. A separate motion sensor that would trigger the camera to start recording when someone enters the room/access point would alleviate this issue. It could also help with the issue that myself and others are having with lag in recording start time. The sensor could be placed further out from the camera when necessary so that it could trigger the camera to start recording earlier, accounting for the lag time and recording what users actually wanted recorded.
An additional sensor would not be something that would be required of all cameras and placements, but it would be useful for specific scenarios and even having two sensors at opposite inds of a room/area triggering one camera could be a useful setup. As it is though, it is relatively cost prohibitive to expand your system to do this as the cameras are the only sensor option and cost too much to be wasted on being merely a sensor. Additinally these "wasted" cameras eat into your allotment under the current subscription you have and could create additional cost to the user for an upgraded subscription. As it is, I am hesitant to expand my system (currently at 4 cameras), even though I would like to have greater coverage, because of the up front cost of the cameras not being used to their full potential combined with the monthly cost of the upgraded subscription. I would be far more willing to expand my system and upgrade my subscription if there were external sensors that would allow me to use my system effeciently and effectively like I want to without the inflated up front cost.
I could see how this could be achieved either through hardware development of sensors exclusively for Arlo or through software development of integration with already established systems which perform comlementary functions. With either one, if the price is right I'm in, if it stays as it is my expansion is stuck.

Can you add support with Amazon Key? Their system requires a camera to activate. There are 3 camera vendors that they support but none are Arlo. I have a WiFi deadbolt that works with Amazon key but I can’t register it. I don’t want to go and buy another camera for my front door.

You already have an option to create trigger zones, why not add one to create 'ignore zones'.
I have one tree outside our house that triggers the camera constantly in the wind. the only way to stop it making 30+ recordings in a day is to turn the sensitivity down but then I miss actual events. It would be good to just highlight the tree and say ignore this thing...

We shouldn't have to eject them and manually find the videos to watch. They should be accessible remotely as well via mobile apps.

Add a feature that allows us to see what sensitivity levels are being hit when recordings take place. I am forever struggling to adjust the sinsitivity of the camers on the outside of my house.
When a recording is made it wouldbe good to know what sinsitivty % was hit so I can tell what level a tree moving in the wind vs a car driving down the street vs a person walking along th epath is and fine tune it.
I know I can sort of do this in the motion detection test but I then have to be outside where I can see the blue led and wait for these actions to occur, very hard to reproduce!
Would be good to see the actual % number stored alongside the recording that was made, and even better the realtime percentage during the whole recording length. I regularly get a recording of someone pulling up in a car but once they stop and the person gets out the recording stops. So obviously I need to up the setting to get that person walking but by how much? Trial and error is infuriating..

Lets get the app updated so the Alexa can speak the Alro's motion detection alerts. I appreciate the phone notifications, BUT if I'm in my home walking around I normally don't have my phone on me and would like to be vocally notified if there's motion detected around the outside of my home without having to go through lengthy IT "hacks" to get Alexa to vocalize the detection. I believe it would be a beneficial and a great way to upsell your system. Hoping this gets added soon

I am practically giving you the solution to your customer's heavily requested and valuable feature. Due to intense processing required to monitor so called "activity zones" you currently do not allow this feature in battery operated mode. I propose you allow activity zone configuration, and trigger the camera on motion detection, the same way you currently operate. The video feed goes out to the base station as usual. However, the main difference is that you do not push a notification or save the recording to the server *yet* -- your software processes the first few frames of the video to see if the activity zone was triggered, continues processing as you see fit to determine if any of the motion captured falls within the trigger zone. If you don't find anything, you discard the video (or let the user review it later, without notifiactions). If you have a good indicators that you caught something within the activity zone, great. You push the notification and keep recording/processing. If this is too complex, at least provide your customers with the option, and expose the limitation that setting up a "battery-powered" activity zone is not as robust or instant as the standard always-powered option. This is a happy compromise. I absolutely welcome your communication if you need any proof of concept help or implementation approach.

I appreciate that internally there has been a lot of work on the Arlo app redesign, unfortunately none of your developers appear to actually use Arlo themselves, not listen the the feedback from the community forums when everything breaks I would suggest a you all install a minimum of 5 camera wireless system at your homes and then see how you like using your app to secure your home - see how unfriendly and anti consumer you guys have made it The battery warnings don’t work, and now I have to spend about 10 minutes every day managing my cameras compared to a previous 30 second check every couple of days - this is NOT smart technology anymore this is manual old fashioned technology that none of us bought The product has been seriously degraded by these design decisions Please come back to us after you have used the systems in your own homes for a week or more and advise exactly why these decisions are better Further development of your apps should not be undertaken by employees who do not currently have the systems installed at their own homes so that decisions like the recent redesign do not happen again Regards A VERY UNHAPPY ARLO CONSUMER

It would be great if Arlo Q could somehow trigger the siren in the New Pro Base. It seems it would be more effective and there would be far less false alarm soundings. I have 4 outside cameras, I'm guessing the siren will be going off more than I want with false alerts. Whereas indoors when the home is empty, there should'nt be any false alarms. I'm way more concerned about someone getting into the home than a delivery to my front door.

We are using the Arlo Pro system to protect and monitor an unoccupied house on a large piece of property with several outdoor storage buildings. Its siren only runs on the base station inside the house, but is not able to be heard outside at any of the entry points to the premises. We are also 2 hours away from the property, so responding to a serious alert takes time. Obviously we have taken all the other steps possible to secure the premises, but that does not necessarily protect it, especially if nobody is there. Since there are so many cheap fake security cameras on the market, I don’t think that the mere presence of signs or cameras is a sufficient deterrent. The idea of a security system is not to notify you that you have been victimized, but rather to prevent it from occurring in the first place. An audible warning coming from the cameras themselves would provide such a deterrent. Your Pro model cameras already have 2-way audio capability, which allows the system owner to announce something through the camera speakers but only when they are actively monitoring the system, and then only by using whatever microphone is provided by their computer. The system does NOT have the ability to “automatically” deliver a pre-recorded warning announcement through the cameras the instant that they detect motion. This feature would let intruders know that someone is really watching, which would make the system much more effective. We wish we could automatically play a user created MP3 format message such as "Warning video property surveillance recording has been activated and security personnel have been notified" through the camera speakers as soon as they are triggered. It seems that such a feature could easily be enabled by writing a downloadable firmware update that either adds such a recording playback feature to the base station, or by giving the base station permission to access a media player on the system owner’s computer instead of the PC's microphone.

I understand that the Arlo Pro 2 cameras can do unlimited recording with cloud storage if you pay extra for the plan. My question is, if I want to live stream continuously to an iPad, it times out after about 30min. I would like to continue to use the multiple Arlo Pro 2 kit for my house so I can have a unit outside observing the driveway and swingset to watch my kids, but at the same time also have one inside monitoring our baby. I understand it isn't the "baby monitor", but as I just described, it can be used for other means both inside and outside, such as in the basement to monitor the kids playing, etc. It makes the most sense to allow for me to monitor all of these things simultaneously since if the baby is napping, it's useful to be inside with the baby but to still be able to monitor the older kids playing outside.
I understand the issue with the Arlo Pro 2 if it is on battery power to have it turn off after a set period of time, however, this unit can also be wired. Perhaps there could be an option to "disable the 30 min timeout" default setting, or the unit could just notice that it is plugged in and automatically turn off the "time out" default. This seems like an incredibly easy fix to just "allow continuous live streaming when plugged in" or something to that effect. Myself and other family members that I have recommended this to may have to move on to another product if this simple option isn't available.

It would be ideal to have a hidden button to turn all cameras live. Especially when different notifications come at once. Different nofications came on my phone from all my cameras, a group of deer were around my home. I had to hit cameras one by one. It takes time do it, when you’re done; if it’s a real emergency, then too late. The all cameras button can be optional, settings should have an option to add the button on the main page. Also the button should be hidden where the alarm is hidden..

The whole "If Motion is Detected" needs an AND option to include what type of motion: People Vehicles
Animal
Package
Other When configuring modes this granulatarity is needed to minimize unecessary notifications and excessive noise. A mode needs to be able to have multiple options per camera. i.e. If the following: Front Door, Motion Detected - AND "Motion is People" - THEN "Record Video" - THEN "Push Notification" The "AND Motion is People" needs to have a complex set of boolean options. IS People and IS NOT Vehicles, etc. I don't want to be notified by "Animals" on some cameras, ever. Additional, there are OTHER cameras that animal notifications are the ONLY thing I want notified on. It's nice Arlo can categorize what it detects but unless you can create rules/triggers on those they are useless. Useless. This logic is already built into the Library, where you can select and limit what you see in the library. That concept needs to be moved over to Modes and Notifications. Maybe a customer only wants to be notified if they have a PACKAGE detected on their front door and nothing else. Maybe they want a push notification for a package but an email if a person is detected. Or, maybe they want push notification for packages 24 hours a day but only push notifications if a person is detected after 9pm, etc.

I've seen the request for battery % on the summary screen. Originally % was available on the devices page. Perhaps as an optimization for data fetches in the solution architecture at the expense of customer ease-of-use this was removed and hasn't come back on the iOS app. HOWEVER... what would be extremely helpful is a way to sort the cameras by battery % (least to greatest). This feature could manifest itself as a sort option on the Devices page (best) or by some other means. This allows one to be given a priority on which camera to charge next instead of requiring one to need to actively check each device separately.

Premise 1 - Camera's need to connect directy to base stations (not via WiFi so access points and extenders are useless). 2 - Location setup can include multiple base stations BUT camera only communicates with the base station it is connected to. 3 - Arlo Pro base station allows for new features including recording to USB drive BUT only cameras connected to Pro base station can use this option. Suggestion-build a bridge to allow base stations to communiucate with each other AND allow Pro base stationm (via connected USB drive) to store video of ANY camera connected to ANY base station (Original, Pro and possibly future products). Benefits: 1 - offers customers a use for older equipment which helps strengthen wireless conncetivity (extendability / reach) of cameras which have inherent benefits (better battery life , etc. akin to adding access points in WiFI setup). 2 - Adds value to existing customers and gives credible reason to purchase addional (and upgraded) Pro base station instead of negative comments I've read about feeling "ripped off " by planned obsolensence.

I want to be able to have a relatively high threshold before a motion triggers a recording, to reduce false positives. But once a recording starts, I want the sensitivity to be high so it continues to record when the subject is only moving a little bit.
For example, someone walking into view of the camera registers as a high motion event and triggers a recording. But then they stop somewhere (perhaps to look into my window?) and are not moving enough for the motion sensitivity to count it as motion. The recording stops while they're still in view of the camera, which is bad. I don't want the clip to stop just because they stopped walking. If they're still moving at all (head, arms, etc) then I want the clip to continue. The motion sensitivity needs to be higher during the recording - separate from the initial trigger sensitivity.
