I've experimented with several security cameras over the past few weeks, and Ring has the best alerting implementation BY FAR. When a motion alert is received from Ring, it leads directly to a Live View of the event. If you view the alert some time AFTER the event, it leads directly to the Recording of the event. I never precisely timed this, but if roughly 20 to 30 seconds had elapsed after the motion event occurred, Ring was smart enough skip the live view, and take you to the recording. This was MUCH more elegant and faster than what Netgear is doing now with Arlo.
Nest also has a nice alerting method that shows a short video clip of the event embedded in the alert itself. Apparently this has been previously suggested on this forum, and it is marked as coming soon...which is great!
I'm currently testing Blink XT as well as Arlo Pro 2. Arlo is SIGNIFICANTLY higher quality than Blink, but I am really surprised that I can get to the Blink event video faster than Arlo's. Blink's alert always leads directly to the event. No additional taps or logins. This still isn't better than Ring's method, but it shows that Netgear has some work to do.
If embedded alert videos are coming soon, then my suggestion is to blend this with the Ring implementation. If we view the alert quickly, send us directly to the Live View. If we view the alert later, send us to the Recording. No additional taps or delays. While you're at it, eliminate the constant login requirement. My phone is very secure already.

I know I've seen a lot of complaints about lag. From what I see most of the lag is caused by the camera waiting for the network to be able to upload to the cloud. The mechanical part of the sensor being tripped and the lens opening is a second or less but if there is any network congestion or hiccup of any kind you camera can't record to the cloud. Make it so I can buy a USB drive put it in the back of the base when a camera activates it records directly to the flash drive, once the recording is complete then it uploads to the cloud, but the actual recording is immediate, no waiting for the Internet. This simple solution would change how fast our cameras record

You already have an option to create trigger zones, why not add one to create 'ignore zones'.
I have one tree outside our house that triggers the camera constantly in the wind. the only way to stop it making 30+ recordings in a day is to turn the sensitivity down but then I miss actual events. It would be good to just highlight the tree and say ignore this thing...

-- I'm suggesting an External siren I can choose to *pulse quickly* a few short blasts -- or let it go continuously for 30 secs., or 60 secs., etc. -- In the Forum, it lists the outdoor alarm issue as Solved ----- but it is *not* solved. Only a Dlink workaround was suggested -- and it was noted that the Dlink alarm connected thru IFTTT is *not*loud enough to scare away intruder. -- Controllable alarm is requested -- because ----- you don't want to wake the entire neighborhood if you are successful in scaring the burglar away with just a pulse or short blast of the Alarm. A controllable accessory Alarm you could mount inside (or outside) would make this system very solid. ----- If the person persists, you could sound a louder alarm for a longer period, so that neighbors will call police or be warned there is danger in the area. Scaring away the intruder is crucial --because thieves often *do not mind being on camera* and they know that police never show up in time to stop them from stealing. ------ A burglar who does not hear a loud alarm will simply continue robbing the house--even if he has seen or stolen your Arlo camera already.. So the Arlo system needs a loud, outdoor, controllable-from-the-app alarm. (Contollable as to volume and length of alarm blast.)

HI, Please include a Timelapse feature in the Arlo APP. i just want to view what happened throughout the day rather than viewing it at different times. Would like to see it record a few minutes every 30mins or so. Currently you can set up schedules, why not expand this feature into timelapse. This will be a great feature to have as none of the other brands have this. And its well needed. Sometimes you dont have celluar signals or wifi. This fixes that loop hole. Cheers, Senthil

I am using Arlo for a construction project Im currently working on. This project will be going on for more than a year. It would be great if you could add a feature that would allow me to schedule the camera(s) to automatically take a picture at certain points during the day. For example, I would like to be able to place markers on the schedule at 11:00am and 4:00pm and then have the camera(s) turn on a take a picture at those selected times. This would be great for eventually putting together a timelapse of the project over a year's time. Thanks - Peter

Now that the Q camera is available, I'd like to see it be integrated into the modes so you can add a rule along with the wireless cameras. Since we currently need a separate mode solely for one Q, its impossible to set up modes utilizing all possible devices for scheduling. Complete integration, treating the Q as one would for any wireless camera, increases the utility of especially the Q but all cameras as part of a system.

Here's some improvements I would like to see. It would be great if you can add the date & time on each camera. At least have it as a option. It's also very important for evidence to show police. Also, please let us choose a longer record time of at least 5 minutes. I know it will kill the battery more but at least we can decide. The option to record "until activity stops" 300 seconds is a terrible option. It does not work well at all. It would be great to also see multi points on the activity zones, not just a square. I know because of delay it's hard but actual 2 way communication would be a bonus. When you talk to someone, they don't know to wait a few seconds to respond. You end up always hearing half of what they say. Keep our speaker side on some how. I love the Arlo camera's for what they do but with a few extra improvements they would be so amazing. Hope to see this in the near future. Thank you

Door and window sensors to trigger alarm... Pet owners would appreciate it. Cameras are not good alarm triggers. it would be helpful to have Arlo products and accessories working with other Arlo products and accessories. No use in using IFTTT and SmartThings and other hubs and integrating other systems when all we need is one particular accessory.

When I use the iOS app and expand the video screen, the alarm button is very close to the "minimize" arrows on the screen and I risk to turn on the alarm by mistake. Would it be possible to make the arlam button smaller?
