Recording 15 seconds prior to motion event

Since the Arlo Essential doesn't support continuous recording, it would be a great feature to be able to capture the lead-up to a motion event. Currently, the camera might miss a portion of the motion event.

A 5 to 10 second look back would be great.

Agreed, other systems have this. Sometimes the trigger to record can be quite late (especially Arlo Go which has limited trigger range) so quite frustrating just to capture the last second or so before the object moves out of view!

I don't think this is possible. Arlo cameras are OFF all the time to save battery, except for the PIR sensor which is a low battery consumption component. When PIR detects movement, it starts the camera. So, it is technically impossible to get 10 secs before the movement detection as the camera was off.

The only way to do that is to have it hooked to the power supplier... this way it works like a charm for me.

Fledgling

Could a function like this be made available if the camera is continuously powered? There are a number of solutions now available to allow constant power to these cameras.
