Make PC as a trusted device for 2FA

I use 3 devices to access my Arlo cams. My phone, my tablet and my PC. It isn't possible to add my PC to known devices for the 2 step verification process. Every time I try to access my cams via my PC, I have to get the code from my phone and enter it in my PC. Would be much easier for PC users to have the capability to list the PC as a known device.

This is retarded.

Why are Arlo assuming I use the app at all?

Why can’t computers be added as verified items to use the website in? Two step verification Is a waste of time. This is the worst update ever. I use the same computer everyday to check my cameras and now having these cameras are completely USELESS! This need to be fixed immediately!

Like you I use the PC to monitor my cameras.

I got a message back to submit a request for a feature.  Arlo has known about this issue since Jan 2020 at least.  It is not hard to implement a solution for this.   Arlo is to cheap to do it.

I almost sign up for subscription when they would not allow my Pro 2 to record to the cloud (only have three cameras on the system).  Glad I did not now since they will not take Trusted device for the PC/Mac seriously.

Looks like they have done it, and made two step verification mandatory without the ability to make a PC a trusted device.  Totally against the wishes of many users. Time to move on to another supplier.

Fledgling

100% agree, this is utterly ridiculous and archaic.    Every major provider allows for you to "remember" this device, if not permanently, even for 30 days would be an improvement and more in lines with every other industry/company out there.

Come on Arlo, catch up with... well everyone... and join the 21st Century so we can be responsible and safe AND REASONABLY CONVENIENT while being responsible and safe.

It can't be that hard since as noted above, nearly every other company on the planet can do it.

THIS IS STUPID ARLO REALLY REALLY DUMB!

I suggest we ALL ring their support lines at least once a day.

Am I not allowed to put numbers here?

The 2FA was forced upon me 2 days ago. To be clear, I DO NOT want this security feature, yet it's not my choice.

To add insult to injury, now I need a code to look at my cameras on my PC every single time I log in, rather than allowing me to make the computer a trusted device.  By the way, if you don't have SMS, then you have to get the code emailed to you -- and they only give you 2:00 minutes to type in the code -- 45 seconds of which is eaten up waiting for the damn code to come thru via email. Seriously?

This is completely unacceptable.

I'm done with Arlo (despite how much I spent on their cameras) and now actively looking at other security camera options.

I am sure the issue will also be there with the Verisure offerings if this is anything to go by. Verisure took over Arlo and offer Arlo cameras as part of their solution. I would not touch anything to with Verisure at this point in your quest for new cameras. I have rung Verisure to complain tnad they are not interested and pointed me t Arlo support. I have rung Arlo support to complain that you cannot raise a complaint per se but only request a support ticket. If you want to get an answer from Arlo  (when ringing 0800 970 3054) select the SALES (#2) option as that gets answered by a human being. Their internal system support has basically been 'turned off' and replaced with a robotic type of response from the support staff - as if they are reading from a cheat sheet and have no actual knowledge or training in the systems they are supposedly 'supporting'.

I am also disgusted that this issue has been going on for well over a year. The status is set to Engineering Investigation!
