Custom alert sounds for Android/iOS

Really need to customize the notification sound.  For instance, I want to be alerted to motion on some cameras while sleeping, but the notification sound is not enough to do that because it is too brief and I just sleep right through it.  Would be nice to select an mp3, or at least provide some more aggressive options for alerts.  Perhaps even per camera custom sounds, as one can do with ringtones for different contacts.

Please add the funcationality on the Android to set a specific notification sound that way we can easily know when I got the message from arlo or other apps. During a meeting it will help to know what kind of notification is coming without looking

The Arlo sound alert when it sends notifications, is just like many other apps like Whatsapp so when you receive one, you dont notice the diference and some times  you dont pay attention thinking is a whatsapp or other.  The Arlo sound alert when motion is detected should be different or you should be able to change it so you can recognize it as important when it sounds.  (I have the Arlo wire-free camera and I use Iphone)

i'm not sure Netgear has control over what your notification sound is...you or your phone manufacturer decide that...

if the feature is available on your phone, then you can set the notifivcation sound for that app...dont use apple devices so i cant comment on whether iOS devices have the feature to set specific tone for specific apps but i am aware BlackBerry and android both have that feature

Another vote for this. This is standard functionality and important to help distinguish from non critical alerts.

It would be great if you could chose different notification sounds for your phone alerts.

I would liek a more robust notification at night when I am sleeping.

could be camera specific all, one two, or three, etc.

Yes,I will agree need to have a different sound and a louder sound. iPhone will not let you change it or make it louder. The sound is like the same for every notification that apple has. Would be nice that you can change it and set any volume.

please add the feature. the ability to set-off an alarm on the phone until acknowledged serves to alert effectively during sleep hours.

I don't know if this helps resolve this issue, but I think I figured out a way to get a "Wake up notification" from my iPhone in the event that there is a motion detection in the middle of the night.

Step 1:

Setup email notification in your Arlo setup.

Step 2:

Create a contact in your contacts for alerts@arlo.com

Step 3:

Go to VIP in your iPhone mail app

Step 4:

Set your contact you created in Step 2 as a VIP

Step 5:

Configure the specific sound you want to hear when there are any VIP emails.

So, in a nutshell, if motion is detected, alerts@alro.com will email you, your phone will receive the email and play the VIP notification sound.

Would like to get this message to PasoWino (Novice).......your idea you gave me to set up a custom "wake up notification" alert sound for my Arlo, was SPOT ON!!  Thank you so much.  I don't have an IPhone, but I played with my Samsung G3 for a bit and found basically what you told me to look for on an IPhone to have that separate notification sound.  Too bad Net Gear couldn't do it.  Just wanted to say thank you and maybe they should POST YOUR SOLUTION and NOT have so many unhappy customers that are looking for that feature. Now when I hear that ringtone at night.....I know one of the Motions was set off!  Thanks again!!!!!  Claudia S
