Arlo Base Station digital inputs and outputs or Insteon
For people engaged in home automation (perhaps a big segment of your customer base), it would be helpful to have one or more inputs for the base station that would accept a contact closure.
Such input(s) should be able to arm or disarm rules, and would enable an external system to control Arlo's monitoring behavior.
Conversely, one or more contact closure outputs (e.g., a micro relay), programmable as an alternative rule response (along with notifications or emails, which are the current choices), would allow a home automation system to turn on lights or take other actions in response to detected motion. These could be wired into, for instance, an Insteon 2450 I/O Linc module.
An alternative or additional feature to consider would be an integrated bidirectional Insteon interface performing the same functions.
