Make session timeout user adjustable.

Currently the session timeout is set so short I'm practically re-logging in every time I want to check the cameras. I think it's counter intuative to maintaing security -- the #1 function of 'security' cameras.

What's needed is a user adjustable session timeout feature -- with increments up to 'always on'.

This has been going on for about 2 years now.  One would think that ARLO does NOT care about their customers.

It would be nice to continously stream from tablet devices while at home.

For example:  waiting on company, to continously stream to my tablet full screen while waiting on their arrival i stead of being alerted via push sound and physically see its whom you were waiting on.

Its kind of a pain now as being in an apartment and being Easter, Jehovah Witnesses will SURELY be knocking and I am disable which making going downstairs to answer the door each time, dangeroys for me.

The downside of this is that the system won't make motion recordings while you are live streaming.

Hi Arlo Friends

We are breeding Danish Warmblood and Knabstrupper horses in Denmark. I have four Arlo cameras surveying the stables and the horses. I am very happy with these cameras because, I can place them, wherever I want.

During the foaling season I want to monitor the pregnant mares. Especially the last days of the pregnancy it is very urgent, that I can livestream the horses during nighttime, if something goes wrong.

But the cameras can only livestream for 30 minutes, after which the cameras go in “rejected timed off”.

I have asked the Arlo supporters to change this, for instance by giving me the opportunity to choose the option “rejected timed off” yes/no in the settings tab.

They have asked me to ask the community for support to the proposal.

The reason for “rejected timed out” is, that a continuous livestream will drain the battery. But if you have chosen “no rejected timed out”, of course you must be aware of this.

I kindly ask the community to support my proposal.

Thanks in advance.

I've seen this issue mentioned in the forums from years ago without resolution, so I'm bringing it up again because it bugs the heck out of me too. I use Arlo mostly in Chrome but also on my Android device. In both cases, the session timeout after logging in is insanely short. I understand this could be justified for security's sake, but please at least provide the option to set the timeout to a few hours. I had also originally envisioned having a computer w/monitor setup with previews of my cameras as a sort of security station but the session timeout makes this impossible.

Fledgling

July 2020

Just bought the Arlo Pro 2 with 4 cameras.

Easy to install HOWEVER, it automatically logs out in 30 minutes or less on your cell phone, laptop, PC and SmartTV. Talked to Arlo tech support and was told that there's NO WAY to extend the automatic logout time to 12 hours. In 2019, there was an option to stay logged in for up to 12 hours. Not in 2020!!

This totally defeats the purpose of a security system. Every time we get a push notification that there's been 'motion' on one of our cameras, we have to log in and wait for the camera(s) to load. Unbelievable! And forget hooking it up to a SmartTV....you have to log in to the Arlo app every single time.

They need to fix this problem. Other security systems offer the option of staying logged in 24/7, 12 hours, etc.

DO NOT BUY!

The only option you have is the CVR ( paid option ) but also the camera must be powered...

this gets 24/7 record.

PS to my knowledge, the cams always timed out at about 30 mins ( except the Q and Baby cam )
