Incorporate geofencing into schedule

The idea of Arlo wireless cams is great in theory however based on my real-life use cases, I find the mode settings very limiting - especially the fact that I can only program using either schedule or geofencing at any time.

We are one of those families that doesn't have a set schedule or pattern on a daily basis - especially during the daytime. My preference would be to use geofencing during daytime (hopefully we get the ability to manage geofencing based on multiple devices soon!)

For night time while we are asleep, I need to use schedule and deactivate geofencing.

I realize that I can switch modes from geofencing to schedule every evening with just a few taps but doing that daily is a royal PITA.

In an ideal scenario, I would like it to be "set it and forget it" setup. That can be easily achieved by incorporating geofencing into schedule. E.g. "geofencing" from 7am till 11pm; "schedule" from 11pm till 7am.

This would make the cameras much more useful for me. I can't imagine other users not needing this type of setup.

Requesting that you guys make this an enhancement during one of your upcoming releases.

Hi I think it would be great if you could incorporate the geolocation mode into the schedule part of the app. This way you could have geolocation on during the day and a custom night mode programmed into the schedule. Currently users have to switch between a night custom mode and geolocation manually.

Honestly I'm finding the device less useful without this....I want to know whats happening when I'm not around but also when people are around my house late at night or early morning.  Not being able to do both severely limits the point of buying it.   Having it armed all the time has my phone blowing up whenever I'm at home or doing yardwork so its not really an option either.

I would imagine EVERYONE would want this.

Scheduling when I’m asleep and geofencing during the day (so I may come and go as I please).

I also would like this. The current ability to set a schedule within geofencing does not solve the issue. In fact, I'm surprised that this was implemented instead of the what we are seeking. Did the product managers and designers not user test this? Please get this into the next update. Thank you.

I too would like to be able to schedule for the system to alarm during the night, and then geofence during the day.  Right now I manually turn it on at night, and off in the am.

I actually figured out how to do this. It’s already supported, but kind of oddly placed.

1.  Open the arlo app and click on the device.

2.  Select Geofencing and click the pencil

3.  Scroll down to “Select Mode”

4. For Away Mode, select “Armed”

5. For Home Mode, select “Schedule”

Thanks JRBenning!  I actually figured it out shortly after I made that post.  It wasn't as easy as I think it should be, but it seems to be working.  It did take me awhile to realize I had to be in daily mode to make a schedule and not the weekly mode in the app (iPhone).  The YouTube videos helped also.  Glad to know I also have support from the community!  Now if I can just get it to recognize that my husband is home when I leave and not let me know every move he makes 😛

I'm wondering what functionality you are seeking. It seems to me that leaving the system set to Geofencing allows you to decide what you want the system to do when you are home and away. I have the away set to "armed" and the home set to "scheduled".

I've just implemented it and didn't realise that you had to leave the system on "Geofencing", I thought it would switch automatically when the wife and I left the house. I checked, while out, and found it was stil on "Schedule". When I changed to "Geofencing" the system immediately armed. The  "Home" setting is set to switch to "Schedule" but I would love a confirmation that that happened when we returned home.

Is there no way of implementing some sort of system log that could be interrogated. The only way I've been able to test whether the scheduled setting is active is to try to trigger the system during the scheduled  "armed" state.
