If a criminal disables your power or internet it allows the criminal to disable all property security. Need something more reliable.

Run a UPS on the base... if a Pro/Pro2 with usb backup, it will continue to record to usb backup

Usb only records.  It will not alarm or notify as needed.  But thank you.

Yes... but then the battery backup would have to be on your router and modem too ( which is what I do )...

but still if the internet cable is down there will not be any alerts as mentioned,  tho siren does function.
