A new feature in the latest app update has a toggle to turn cameras off. What does switching camera off do?  Put it in sleep mode or actually turn it off?

I get excessive email alerts every time it's windy outside.  This is a real hassle.  There needs to be a way to turn off email notifications but retain recordings.
