Hi Folks Im considering installing two of these cameras at my vacation rental, I understand that the camera uploads data to a server. and then I can view said videos on app. I have a wifi data hotspot at my vacation rental, I would be accessing video on server through a separate data plan on my cell or through the internet at my home (not the same data plan that the cameras are attached to) is it safe to assume that the cameras would be only using data to upload video to the server, or if I request a live feed from the app? Most folks on here seem to be connecting the cameras to the same data plan as their phones, this is not my situation, would this mean the cameras would only consume data during motion detection? is there a medium quality setting to control the bandwidth consumption. Would love folks feedback that have similar sets ups as I am suggesting. Thanks in advance.

The main data load would be to the servers from the primary location... ( at high quality video, 10 secs is about 1 mb ) Be it recording or live viewing.
To make a long story short, YES, your right. The local data plan would upload any videos, but your remote plan would be the same on the d/l or viewing
Same total data, just slpit between the two plans
