Amazon Show 5 does not display video feed. Only audio. It used to work. Tried resetting devices, removing/adding cameras, and upgrading software. Nothing works.

I'm beginning to be convinced, that after going into the Echo Devices list that the Echo Show claims to support (which are numerous), and visiting the user forums for these cameras, including Blink owed by Amazon, its beginning to appear the Ring Doorbell is the only camera that no one is complaining about. For those not aware, Ring is a fully owned Amazon company. I'm starting to suspect that the Echo devices have had some sort of firmware upgrade that reject or make incompatible wireless cameras not owned by Amazon. Just a suspicion mind you (I say that because the evidence is thin) but if you want to go through the list and compare complaints in the manufacturers forums. Is Amazon subtly crushing the competition? Does Arlo/Netgear have the expertise to confirm and if they do, have the desire to take on the big boy?

When I ask Alexa(on my echo show 5s and Fire tv cube) to show me “Arlo Pro 2 camera name” All I get is waiting for Arlo....and the audio will come through, but the camera feed won’t. I’ve had 3 friends who have all returned their Arlo pro units due to not having the video feed function not properly working anymore. Please fix!!! 🙂

I'm having the same problem with no Live feed from my Arlo camera. I have Amazon Fire TV's and a Fire Stick connected to 4 TV's.... none of them give a live feed of my camera. I had my camera just over a year and within the last week or more, I'm just getting a message on my screen that reads "Waiting for Arlo". Forget customer service support from Arlo; they claims they have no other records of complaints of this nature, when the contrary is noticed from the mass number of complaints on Arlo's own Community Page!!!! My Fire 10 Tablet seems to work, but non of my other Amazon devices (Fire TV's and Stick) are streaming LIVE feed from the Arlo camera anymore.

I have the Arlo Pro cameras. Just bought an Amazon Echo Show 8 and I can get audio but no video. If I happen to open my cameras on my phone Arlo app, then tell Alexa to show me the camera, it will sometimes load the video feed but not always. It does it on all my cameras. I have repaired everything and updated firmware on everything. Still only gives me audio and no video. This makes the Echo Show pointless as I bought it to view my camera feeds for the front door when I'm in my office without having to stream it up on my computer or phone if I'm working. Is there a fix being worked on? or is Arlo going to say its Amazons problem and Amazon says its Arlo's problem so no one fixes it? I should have just gotten the Nest Camera system with the Google home and things would be working just fine. Please update all of us!

- Which Arlo camera are you experiencing this problem? Arlo Baby Monitor
- Which Amazon Alexa devices are you experiencing this problem? Echo Show 5
- Is the problem related with hearing the audio only? Sometimes when I open Arlo on Alexa it will say Waiting on Connection. Then the times it does connect and has video and sound, it will randomly disconnect in the middle of the night. This is very concerning with a baby.

Amazon have had enough of my emails they have asked if I would like to return the Show 8 for a refund and even sent me the return sticker. I thought about it and at least it worked with my Ring doorbell so I may as well keep it.
Can you believe that today the Show 8 does not connect with the Ring doorbell, like everyone else it tells me ''waiting for Ring''? Well I got fed up waiting and the Show 8 is now on its way back to Amazon via Hermes carriers.
I cannot believe the agro the past few days have been, it feels like a weight is off my shoulders. My advice to all my Arlo buddies, if you can then send the bloody Amazon unit back for a refund.
I should have know it would be trouble I never get a bargain deal !!!!!!!!!!

I have 2 base stations, 5 cameras, and a Arlo Door bell. Have the same issue as others where I can not display the cameras on my Echo Show 8, Echo Show, or Echo Spot (Waiting on Arlo.....). This was working in the past. Perhaps related to the separation from Netgear? The lack of response and responsiveness from Arlo is even more concerning. No progress in resolving the excessive lag times as reported In an another thread. Alexa support was a major factor in selecting Arlo. I even have a Netgear Orbi router, naively thinking that this would be good for product compatibility. Would not recommend to anyone until these items are addressed. Unfortunately the company focus appears to be on sales and marketing, not on engineering and support.

You asked for more detailed information regarding the cameras not working properly with the Show.
I have a brand new Alexa Show 8
I have 4 Arlo Pro Cameras.
Firmware is upto date on all devices for both Arlo and Alexa.
When I ask the alexa to show me a camera..
I get the connecting to Waiting on Arlo and the flashing dots. I will immediately see the Cloud activity light turn on the Arlo Hub. After a few seconds I will hear audio, but not receive any picture.
Also, interesting, if I log into the Arlo App, it does show that the camera has been activated and is recording.
When I ask Alexa to stop, the cloud activity light on the hub will stop.
It appears to me, that the Skill is not pushing the video to Alexa, since everything else does appear to be functioning properly.
This is the same situation for each of the cameras.
Hopefully this helps a bit, and if I can be of any assistance, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

I am experiencing the same problem for the past few weeks. Prior to that time the my cameras worked fine with the Echo show. Now I get the waiting for Arlo message on the show's screen and never see an updated view. However if I log into my tablet I can see where the camera in fact had activated.

I watch these feeds carefully as I shipped my Echo Show and 'Blink' camera back to Amazon (all are Amazon Products, owed by Amazon, which includes 'Ring'). Blink would only connect to echo 1 out of 100 tries.
One technician for Blink told me (after running some software on my system) that network congestion is the problem and the Echo device requires more bandwidth than other products, ergo, conflicts.
Well, watching multiple camera forums carefully (not just Arlo), it appeared the 'Ring Doorbell' was the only 'wireless' camera working with Echo Show. You have all seen the TV commercial with the girls singing via ring and Echo. ' I need you, you, you.
Nonetheless, I am recently noting complaints that 'Ring' is also exhibiting the same behavior. with Echo and thus complaints about compatibility.
For myself, I may go with the 'Google Nest' hub in lieu of Amazon Echo Show. At this point, I would be reluctant to put all the blame on Arlo. What I would like to hear, is some sort of statement from Arlo in the interim and get their take.
I do have good luck with my 'Echo Dot', it always tells me I have a delivery from Amazon (note the sarcasm)

I have ceased thinking this is an Arlo problem, but rather an ECHO SHOW problem. Yesterday my 4 YI cameras worked with Alexa, now even they won't work with Show. So, my 10 Arlo cameras are affected, and my 4 YI cameras too. And reading this feed, I see that people with Blink and Ring cameras are also affected.

Same issue as everyone else in the beginning. "Waiting for Arlo" with sound only, now I get the "Waiting for Arlo" message and then it usually times out stating it did not receive a feed from the camera.
-using Firestick on TV to display (or try to) video feed.
-Arlo Pro 2 camera's with base-station.
Firmware: 1.14.1.2_2916_1fdeefd
Please fix, this is a nice feature to have if working properly!

Its becoming increasingly clear that the problems of video streaming lie with the Echo Show device. The same complaints are not limited to Arlo cameras but to an entire line of WI-Fi cameras including 'Blink' and 'Ring' owned by Amazon. Its also obvious if other devices, such as Ipads, Iphones, Android tablets and Android phones including Windows Devices can stream both video and Audio and perform thousands of other tasks.., but the Echo show devices cannot, who else can you point the finger at but Echo.
Amazon's Echo Show is causing a lot of owners to point fingers at, and discredit the manufacturers of WI Fi home security camera.
