Trying to install AVD1001. Voltage at the transformer is 17.6v but voltage at the switch is only 13.3v . I have bypassed the chime to see if it is pulling down the voltage but voltage still at 13.3v. The wiring in the house is single strand bell wire but there is appx. 25 ft. from transformer to chime and 25 ft. from transformer to switch. It appears that the wiring has too much resistance and is pulling down the voltage.
Short of rewiring the house is there any solution to this problem? I'm trying to avoid returning the video doorbell. Thanks in advance for the response.

You can get a transformer that runs at a somewhat higher voltage (perhaps 24 volts).
