I use a routine to Arm Home at midnight, and then switch to Standby in early morning.
Now I get woken to an Arlo notification in my phone when the automation runs and the system is Armed and then unarmed.

Please disable these! We wake up to an Arlo alert, which can be frightening, only to see our system as armed like we wanted it to.

Or give us the option to disable such non-useful notifications.

    Caspter_NL,

As of now there are no plans to change the Arm/Disarm notifications sent for mode changes. I will continue providing the feedback posted here to the development team for consideration but I do not have any new information to share at this time.

We appreciate and are reviewing the feedback provided about the recent enhancement for mode change notifications. The details provided in this thread and others has been shared with the relevant teams internally. I will provide an update here once I have more information available to share.

  • And to add to this, I planned to turn on my Hue lights, when detecting motions on my Arlo cameras (through IFTTT). As a consequence of this odd behaviour, the lights turns on, every time I arm or disarm my Arlo system, which makes this routine unusable.

I don't understand the refusal to meet this basic quality of experience request.

Beyond that, the fact that the Feed icon increments a badge number for hidden events is surely a bug. It is like your email client including spam items in your unread mail count.

@ittroll   We do not understand Arlo's refusal either.  @GoBraves has already proved that by not enabling us to mute these manual mode change notifications is NOT making the system more safe, in fact it has the opposite effect.  This has been going on since about May 2023, hence the reason there are 155 posts on this thread.  Basically seems to come down to Arlo not listening to their customers' needs.

Dump Arlo and go to Ring

Hard to disagree with that. When a company refuses to listen to its customers then it’s time to move on.

Goodbye Arlo.  I am canceling my subscription.  You act as the inability to turn off mode change push notifications is an enhancement that we should be grateful to have.  You couldn’t be more wrong and you just lost another customer for not listening.

EDIT: It was a glitch. My phone connected to the TV and it wouldn’t send notifications while connected.

With this latest update I’m not getting the mode change notification. Is anyone else experiencing this??? Or am I just experiencing a glitch in the matrix…

@GoBraves  Yep, still getting the annoying, ‘wake-up-family-members’ unnecessary notification that Arlo doesn’t care to fix for its customers.

Same. I mistakenly allowed myself hope based on the post, but they had taken the blue pill and I took the red.

Still getting the notifications and still getting the notification badge count for hidden events.

Complete and utter garbage.

After the new update everytime I arm or disarm the system everyone gets an alert. I have went into feed and disabled the mode change but that doesn't stop the alert. This is very annoying for everyone when letting the dogs out or if someone is leaving early in the morning.

Over two years now and Arlo continues to ignore this customer request. Whilst the notification icon badge count continues to be bugged. How can a company be so tone deaf?

This has been going on for over two years now. They aren’t going to fix this. This is the hill @ARLO has chosen to die on. They have lost so many paying customers. Their sales are down! Their subscribers are down! All because they don’t want to admit their mistake and fix this one notification that none of us want. @JamesC

@ittroll For me, I've never come across a company so tone deaf.  It's been 2+ years of an Arlo-inflicted app defect.  Many of us including @GoBraves have proven this does not actually create a more safe system, but rather it's primary effect is simply customer annoyance.  It's beyond our understanding why the company refuses to listen to it's customers.  On top of it, they're not even responding to us any longer.  Head in the sand.  @JamesC
