I recently charged my Arlo Essential, actually only second time I've charged it, but now it will only take snapshots. I turned off auto-low power mode and set the video quality to best. The routine is setup to record. Can't figure out what else to change to make it actually record video again. Snapshots are pointless.

Have you checked your modes and rules? If that's not the issue, try removing the camera from your account and add it back. Any better?

Yes, per my description, I checked and adjust modes and made sure rules were set. Neither should have changed since all I did was charge the camera. If saying I need to disconnect it to make it start recording video again is honestly a bull**bleep** solution. All I did was charge the damn thing, have never had this happen with any of the other cameras I own.
Why would charging it cause me to have to remove it and add again? I'm not going to do that cause I don't want to have to do that EVERY TIME I charge it.

I am having the same problem. The camera had went dead and after recharging, all we get is snap shots. I too have looked at all the settings and do not know what is causing this behavior. I have looked at the live view several times and that appears to be working properly, just not the recording upon motion. I have not taken the camera off of the account and readded.

I was having the same issue. If you go into the app open the settings tab on the camera giving you issues. There is a toggle switch that allows you to turn the camera on and off. Turn it off and then turn it back on and it should start recording again.

The camera started to work again after several days, I didn't change anything from my prior statements, so unsure why it worked one way and then decided to start being normal again, but it did.

I am having the exact same issue - after charging, the cameras are only taking Snapshots, which is totally useless… tried turning them off and back on, tried adjusting the record time etc, but they still only take snapshots… almost ready to return them for a refund!!
