You can get an SMS mesg as an alert by using your phone number as an email adress. Some systems work better than other and clip out extra HTML, some don't.... but its still an easy quick method for me to get an alert. ( BTW, no spaces/dashes, just all ten digits )
Like in the following formats;
AT&T: cellnumber@txt.att.net
Cingular: cellnumber@cingularme.com
Metro PCS: cellnumber@MyMetroPcs.com
Nextel: cellnumber@messaging.nextel.com
Powertel: cellnumber@ptel.net
Sprint: cellnumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
SunCom: cellnumber@tms.suncom.com
T-Mobile: cellnumber@tmomail.net
US Cellular: cellnumber@email.uscc.net
Verizon: cellnumber@vtext.com
Virgin Mobile: cellnumber@vmobl.com
Alltel: cellnumber@message.alltel.com

For ATT:
1234567890@txt.att.net stopped working. you have to use this format:
1234567890@mms.att.net.

its "suppose" to since it is routed via @mms.att.net but I have only seen it work once correctly since I bought this system. Looks like the HTML format has an error in the line code throwing it off. I have tested it and sent a picture to my phone with HTML text and it works fine. Maybe something on the Netgear end.
Not fluent in HTML, hahah, UNIX on the other hand.......
