I would assume that's a function of your calendar software, not Arlo. Usually, you can click on the event and choose Edit to allow you to delete it.

Unfortunately clicking on item and pressing delete says only the one who put the entry on can delete it. Since that was not me I assume it was Arlo and I can not reach a person there. I have deleted the app and no longer use the camera.

The Birthdays calendar fetches birthdays from the Contacts app. You can not remove the whole calendar, however, you can 'hide' the Birthdays calendar. Go to Calendar > Tap 'Calendars' on the bottom of your screen > Uncheck 'Birthdays' by tapping on it.
