Model VMS5340
Hi,
I am trying to set up my activity zones but cannot get them to work. I am subscribed as Smart Premier which means they should work without the camera being connect to AC power.
I have read others posts where users have unsubscribed & then re-subscribed to get then to work. I have tried this but it makes no difference, I am getting notifications constantly for activity outside my activity zones.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks

I’m having the same problem. I’d like notifications to be limited to people on our porch, so I’ve created an activity zone only on the porch to no avail: I still get notifications for people on the sidewalk and vehicles passing on the street. Then I tried smart notifications, eliminating everything but people. I continue to get vehicle notifications passing on the street. Finally I’ve lowered the sensitivity drastically. None of this steps seemed to have helped very much.

Arlo recently deployed a cloud update enhancing Activity Zone accuracy. This should improve the experience for users reporting symptoms of motion detection alerts and recordings occurring outside of their defined Activity Zones. We are continuing to monitor Activity Zone behavior and will provide additional enhancements in the coming weeks.

Yeap. Similar problem here. Brand new system. Days old. Firmware UTD. Complimentary Arlo Smart Premier subscription seems to be in order and I'm still getting the screen warning (triangle with exclamation mark) and the "AC power has been disconnected from your Arlo device. Activity Zones are currently disabled." warning when you click on it. Many hundreds of notifications for activity outside the zones and pretty abysmal battery life later I'm begining to think this was a bad idea.

A recent update was deployed to the Arlo cloud that should address the accuracy of Activity Zones. This should improve accuracy by more reliably sending notifications only when motion occurs within defined zones. More work is being done to improve the behavior of Arlo Smart notifications and to fix the Activity Zones error that some users are seeing when not using an AC adapter (battery only). Stay tuned for future updates.

My problem with Smart Zones has disappeared. I assumed the cause was a software update. You might want to try a restart of all components while making sure you have the latest software. Wish I could help more.

JamesC, I just purchased 4 Arlo Ultras and my Activity Zones aren't working. I come here and everyone has been having this issue...so why should I not send these back right away? I live on a busy road and a car passes every minute. Its not workable. Seriously, WTF?

Thanks for this suggestion but unfortunately it didn't work for me. Considering a return which is disappointing. I don't want to know every time a car goes by or my neighbor takes out their trash. How can they sell this with a feature that just doesn't work?
