Hi,
I'm unable to view locally stored videorecordings. App crashes everytime.
Tried reinstalling app, formatting microSD card.
All other things work except locally stored videorecordings.
They worked to watch, after press download in app for appr 3 weeks.

I didn't have to mess with any of the hardware. I just un-installed the arlo app from my phone, downloaded the 5.3.3 apk, downloaded the unzipper app, installed the apk and 5.3.3 works with my cameras and base just fine. It wasn't complex and I didn't mess with the actual cameras or base at all.
Best of luck

Same here, it is very easy. Dont do anything with your hardware.
Of course it's annoying that we should even have to downgrade but it works fine after that.
Like shoeWooberg says don't forget to turn of autoupdate on google play

I am experiencing the same issue with my USB local recordings. If I click on a recording, it takes me out of the program. Sometimes I receive the following message: clear cache for Arlo secure? Arlo Secure closed because this app has a bug. Try clearing the app's cache first, and then reopen the app. Clear cache or cancel." I have tried clearing the cache, but I still can not open the recording. The version on my Android phone is 5.4.0-28783, released 01-07-25. Will there be a fix for this "bug" as the program refers?

I have the link to the 5.3 apk.
Can anyone explain how to remove the 5.4 version and insert the 5.3?
I don’t see how you can do it on my device, a Samsung A54.

I simply deleted the Arlo secure app off my phone then opened the 5.3.3 APK, then it downloaded it,and took me to the older version of Arlo secure build.
Its now working like normal again, not ideal but better than, being left high and dry.

Probably because Arlo had it removed as it is counter to their plan to force all customers to update to the inferior "upgraded" application that disables previous functionality that existed for nonsubscribers and only reenables it if you pay for a subscription. This is a very thinly veiled attempt to drive subscriptions from those that specifically purchased their base station products to avoid subscriptions. If I were to guess, this issue is probably solely isolated to those that have base stations and have not purchased their subscriptions. Dubiously suspicious.

Someone have persuaded apkmirror to remove version 5.3.3 of the arlo app, that was the last stable (working) version for none subscription users.
So they are monitoring what we write here, sadly it seems they are more eager to make money on subscription then listening our needs. We have paid for the cameras.
So -
- When my cameras are EOL rest assured that I will buy another brand. Hope everyone does the same. I will do my best to give you the reviews you deserve until then.

I fully contend arlo is behind this to get all users onto their subscription platform
I've taken out the mSD out of the hub and the videos play just fine on a PC.
So the app was updated recently and they've intentionally broken the local playback I have no doubt!

You bet, the second I can't use these cameras again, that's it.
We have already talked about this with my hubby, hardwired camera's it will be.
No more faffing about with blasted batteries, constantly going offline, black screens, pixelating.
Not forcing us to subscribe, greedy little toads. Very foolish, taking the freedom of choice from people your customers.
I have 9 cameras, door bell, door chimes etc.
You deemed these bricks, I am out then.

This is what I get when I goggle 5.3.3. Interesting. This is not good for the community of Arlo users. It would be nice to hear from the company.
