Hi,

I’ve got the new Arlo Secure App on iOS 18.2.1 on an iPhone 15 Pro.

App version 5.4.0 (8887) from 4th January 2025.

App is also installed on my wife’s iPhone 13 Pro and she was invited with restricted access.

Location services are both set to “Always”. Background app refresh activated. Both accounts logged in on their respective phone.

My wife’s status does not seem to make a difference. When I leave home and my wife stays, the “Everyone leaves” automation is activated…

… which is not what it should do. I have to set it back to stand manually.

Any idea what the issue could be?

The development team is currently testing a fix that will be made available in an upcoming version of the Arlo app that we hope to release very soon. Once we have more information available about this release, we will provide an update. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

We are still currently investigating this behavior. I will update the community as soon as possible.

@StephenB are you seeing this behavior as well?

Leave failed to trigger when I went out this morning.  Leave did trigger when I went out in the afternoon, but Arrive failed to trigger when I returned home.

Both automations are set up with "Specific People"  My iphone is the only geofencing device, and of course is selected.  But the failures also happened with "Everyone Leave" and "Anyone Arrive".

They began misbehaving on 24 January.  I'm not sure when I upgraded to 5.4.2, but I think it was around that time.

BTW, Location In/Out Notifications are enabled on the phone, but I never see any.

@StephenB:

I had location notifications on as well and can confirm that I never saw one.

Hello all,

I just wanted to do a quick follow up and see if anyone is still seeing this same behavior?

"Arrive" is still misbehaving for me.

As a sample of 1, ours is working mostly ok. It will still occasionally miss us leaving but, if I enable Arm Away manually, it will switch to Arm Home normally.

As I posted above, if "Arrive" is enabled in both "Arm Home" and "Arm Away", it triggers reliably when the system is in "Arm Away".  But if "Arrive" is enabled only in "Arm Away" (as it normally should be), it will not trigger reliably for me even though the system is in "Arm Away".

I retested that when @BrookeN followed up, and it is still happening.

"Leave" is always enabled in my setup, and that does work reliably.

IMO, geofencing needs to be rock-solid to be useful.  If you need to check the mode when you go out or return, you might as well just change the mode manually.
