I just got an Arlo Q and got it all set up however the microphone barely picks up any sound. It will not activate the camera when set to "audio is detected." The only way I can trigger it is by blowing directly into the microphone on the camera unit itself. Yes my microphone is on and turned all the way up.

Thanks again for your help Tom. My case has been resolved by netgear per the following response:
"I have narrowed down your issue to what seems to be a hardware problem on the VMC3040. "
An RMA number has been issued and I will be returning the unit.

you don't say what device or OS running which can help..
But in this case ,contact Netgear support

Hi TomMac, thank you for the reply I am using iOS 10 on iPhone 6s. I have logged a ticket with Netgear. Very much thinking I have a defective device.
