Latest version of Arlo Secure on a iPhone 13 Pro with the notch in the middle prevents anyone from selecting the Cloud or Local categories at the top. For whatever reason the resolution setting for the app in the feed settings is incorrect. These buttons are normally right above the most recent video thumbnail. They are currently at the top of the phone screen and are not selectable. Please forward over to developers to have this fixed on the next software update.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Arlo Secure app. iPhone is running iOS 26.5.2

We are currently investigating the behavior you are seeing with the Cloud/Local storage. I will update the community as soon as possible.

Hello, I'm using an iPhone 17 Pro Max and when I try to view my feed of recorded videos, the Cloud and Local tabs up top aren't clickable. It's behind the time and wifi/battery info bar along with Apple's island thing. Is there a fix for this? I can not click on the Local tab. This is using the latest Arlo app version 6.38.0 released on July 22, 2026. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it also.

It's a bug, so nothing you can do to fix it.  You can still see local recordings by selecting the base on the devices page and then navigating into storage settings.

The fix will be available within the next few weeks. I will update the community as soon as it is available.

Hey…good Note, which will help! Thank you…

But it‘s also my ‚feeling‘ that Arlo ‚try‘ to get more Users in their Cloud option - otherwise there ist no reason, why this is shown by default in the Feed tab and there is no option to get local storage at first ;-(

May some Users will cut off Arlo for all…Hardware is indeed not bad - so why there is so much trouble with the software?

I am having the same issue on my Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max. I cannot select between cloud or local storage to view my feed since the last update.

You can’t get to them thru the device/local storage method either now. It disappeared today.

Stephen, not anymore, that doesn’t work either as of today.

The other path to access local recordings is totally empty on my iPhone 15, however the recordings are there on my old iPad. They were there yesterday on my iPhone, but not today.

iCloud and Local storage buttons are completely gone with most recent update. This is after the buttons being inaccessible at the top of the screen as noted in this thread.

That is a bug that hopefully will be fixed soon.  In the meantime, you can still see local recordings by selecting the base settings on the devices screen, and then pressing storage settings.

Stephen, no you cannot. The latest iPhone version I have dated August 4 (6.40.0) is missing the buttons at the top that were inaccessible and it’s also missing the local recordings in the storage settings area. The July 29 version for my iPad (6.39.0) still has the local recordings in storage settings but is missing the buttons now. Thus the system is now totally unusable and useless on an iPhone running version 6.40.0.

Taking a few weeks to now fix a blatantly obvious fatal flaw that never should have gotten past the quality testing phase is totally unacceptable and unbelievably unprofessional. These programmers are unbelievably incompetent, this rookie sloppiness happens constantly with Arlo updates. Why don’t they employ qualified, competent and experienced developers, there are plenty of them available. That department head needs to be replaced.

Stephen, here’s a screenshot of missing local recordings in storage settings on iPhone 15 running 6.40.0 (34112) dated Aug 4 and screenshot of populated local recordings in storage settings on iPad (5th generation) running 6.3 9.0 (33420) dated July 29. Both are now totally missing the buttons that were previously shown but inaccessible.

This is also what I see on that page on my iphone 12 mini.  I am running iOS 26.6 and app version 6.40.0.  When I touch one of the placeholder thumbnails, it downloads the video to my phone, and and plays the video.  Then the placeholder thumbnail is updated with a real one.  So normal behavior for local storage.

In the past, I have also sometimes seen local recordings on my ipad but not my phone.  Uninstalling the app on my phone and then re-installing it resolved that issue for me.

Uninstalling, and reinstalling the app on my iPhone is actually what caused them to disappear. I was trying to fix the inaccessible button issue, which I thought might’ve just been a corrupted update on my end. I didn’t know it was a bug at the time.  I’ll try it again.

Stephen, ok that seems to have fixed it. My guess is that because I was rebooting the base station at the same time I was reinstalling the app the first time, the software couldn’t accommodate the conditions and recover once the base station was back up.

i can’t even get into my videos from local storage only shows the old one and hard to refresh time to live to another brand  eify or aliexpress with no subscription fee and sell the arlo on market place as they tech support is hopeless and don’t even know the app has a issue and two months to solve a simple issue pathetic and unacceptable

Did you try completely uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it?

For the past few days I haven't been able to access my local recordings anymore from the Feed of the iOS app. There used to be two tabs, one for cloud events, one for the local recordings. The tab for the local recordings has now disappeared. I can still access the recordings via Devices > Base Station > Storage Settings. The issue appears similar to what had been reported in the discussion "Local feed not showing after app upgrade" last year. Back then a backend update on the Arlo side had broken the functionality. Is something similar going on this time? (I am currently using version 6.40.0 of the app, but the issue already started with the previous version.)

Although reinstalling the app repopulated the local recordings yesterday, new recordings are not populating in the storage settings. This is amateur hour at best.

My guess is that the developers are being lazy and recycling modules of old broken code in their updates. Advise them to write new code or else do proper industry standard quality testing before deployment. Seriously, this is amateur work product. Arlo has really good hardware, but you’re skimping inexcusably on developer skillsets. Beef up the budget and hire competent people. This nonsense happens every year without fail.
