I am trying to switch my alerts to text messages instead of email, but when I get a confirmation text, thEre is no link to confirm (it appears to be code, but no link to click on)

Not sure what you're seeing. Arlo supports two types of notifications - email and app. Texts are not possible although TomMac has a method for sending email alerts to text. Are you trying to use his method to get texts?

J is right ...Arlo only offically supports email or pushes ( android/ios )
In order to get TEXT or sms on my phone, I used the format verizon gives to convert email to text ( each service provider is diff , There is a list on here )
exp; 'phonenumber'@vtext.com for email converts to sms
formats as follow;
AT&T: cellnumber@txt.att.net
Cingular: cellnumber@cingularme.com
Metro PCS: cellnumber@MyMetroPcs.com
Nextel: cellnumber@messaging.nextel.com
Powertel: cellnumber@ptel.net
Sprint: cellnumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
SunCom: cellnumber@tms.suncom.com
T-Mobile: cellnumber@tmomail.net
US Cellular: cellnumber@email.uscc.net
Verizon: cellnumber@vtext.com
Virgin Mobile: cellnumber@vmobl.com

Yes.... it has been seen that some carriers DO NOT filter out all the html that comes thru from Arlo.
I get some now and then but it's still easier to read the quick sms over an email on my smart phone ( due to pop -up )
If needed then i sign into the app.
Morse is faster than texting!
