Has anyone got a solution other than buying a newer Phone? The whole point of the system is to be able to control it from the smart phone. My wife has no problem on her Galaxy Note 4 so why can't I load the app on my Galaxy S2 phone?

don't know about the app..it works on my android LG phone with 4.4

Have you tried loading from the browser on your phone instead of the app as a temp work-a-round?

Since I posted this earlier today, I found the Samsung Kies download 2.6 and upgraded my phone firmware with it  from 2.3.6 gingerbread to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

It took awhile but Arlo installed flawlessly after that, and the interface of the entire phone is much better.

I am so glad I didn't go the "root" route, as the firmware upgrades may have not worked after that,  and I might have ended up with a brick. As it is I couldn't be happier!

Thanks for your reply. I was using a PC app in the interim
