Outside Camera wet and rusty, night vision no longer working, constant motion detection alerts

One of my outside cameras suddenly started giving me constant motion detection alerts even though there was nothing moving. When checking the videos and life feed I realized that the night vision was not working anymore either. I then opened the camera at it was all wet in the battery compartment with the batteries and contacts being rusted. I dried out the camera over night and reinstalled it, yet the nightvision is still not working. According to description the cameras are supposed to be weatherproof... is that not the case?!?

Thanks Tom, I did just that on that same day and have not heard back since. Nobody has answered to this post from Netgear either... hmmmm
