Older cameras and base station compatibility

I bought 3 outdoor essential cameras and then got a base station later. I have now discovered that the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera 2nd Gen are not compatible with any base stations. 

is there any chance they will be or will it not ever be the case?

Arlo has publicly stated future support for hubs (not sure about base stations). We have no idea when just yet.
