Motion Detection Problems

Currently have this camera set up low to the ground in my kitchen, as I have had issues with mice. I have turned
motion sensitivity to 100%, and yet in night vision mode, the camera will not detect small rat-sized objects that I
drop in front of it, even though they show up clear as day as I monitor the live feed..
