New EU guide lines require deletion of recordings after 72 hours. How do I change the retention period to support this?

To my knowledge, you can't ... min time is 7 days ( unless you do it manually )

Interesting. Is that GDPR.

Do you have a link to that advice?

Many thanks for that. So it is GDPR.

American organisations are good at overlooking this European issue. (I am fending off one at the  moment that does not seem to follow "best practice" when it comes to closing an account.)

The document behind that link says:

"the processing of personal data by a natural person in the course of a purely personal or household activity, which can also include online activity, is out of the scope of the GDPR"

How would Arlo fit into that?  Does it mean that commercial users of Arlo kit would face different requirements?

The section on Household exemption goes into a bit more interpretation.

Certainly something for Arlo to consider and respond to.
