I use my cams to monitor my cat shelter/feeding and water station on my deck.  Besides picking up cats and raccoons at night, the cams also pick up birds and squirrels.  This is with cams within a couple neters of feeders; at a distance probably wouldnt be too good. Definitely wouldnt pick up a small animal walking towards the cam, but good for walking across the cam.

Yes... tho remember the smaller the animal , the lower to their level you must place the camera

And birds like below... camera is 8" off ground

A while back was a posting of a mouse, the camera sitting on the floor.

My Pro, at 100% sensitivity, picks up rabbitss and squirrels at 15-20 feet as well as the occasional sparrow at a similar distance.  YMMV.

Actually, I believe the pic above was with an original Arlo... But have found with both, Arlo/Pro, the camera needs a lower angle for best results

Ha! My camera is sitting abou 8 feet up, angled down at 30-40 degrees.  That doesn't mean it would work for anyone else, though.

I just setup my Arlo Pro system last night and it would not pickup a Possum about the size of a large cat from 2 metres away. I even set the sensitivty to 100% and it still wont detect it.

It detected me walking in front of the camera problem though

i use my cams to monitor/record stray cats that feed on my deck shelter (as well as racoons) and they get picked up ok.  As has mentioned in other threads the system is not designed to pick up small objected heading straight into the cam, and don't catch them coming up the stairs ( but will detect large objects like people doing same.  So are you not catching the possom walking towards the cam?

No it wasn't walking towards the camera at all. I did capture the Possum while I was manually recording though and here is the link https://arlo.netgear.com/hmsweb/users/library/share/link/5A90BD07FFC5A923_201705

It would have came back at least another two times to the same location and nothing from the Arlo

using my experience with cat/ raccoon  recordings the only thing I can suggest would cause non-recording were that the possum was not in cam area long enough.

Assume your sensitivity level is high enough and your cams are armed.

I'll give it another try tonight. I set the sensitvity to 100 so not sure what else.
