New VMB4000 base station. When I try to add it in the app or using the web, nothing shows up after the search. The lights on the base station are as follows:
Power - solid green
Internet - solid green
Camera(s) - solid amber
I think it may be bad. The camera light shouldn't be solid amber with no cameras added, should it? Any ideas?

Does the base station have green, green, solid Amber LEDs, if so the base has been successfully factory reset and is ready to be claimed.
If the base station was not previously removed from the owners account then arlo will not let you import it again.

Same problem here... @ArloSmartHome BUYER BEWARE!!! ❌❌❌ARLO Tech Support is NONEXISTENT❌❌❌
They expect users on this platform to be THEIR REPLACEMENT FOR TECH SUPPORT.
I may go with SimpliSafe, Brinks or Cove. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Hi three,
I have new Base Station with 3 S/N already green light. But cannot connect to App or Discovery.
4RD17570A1CC6
4RD37C7JA34B7
4RD17573A1CF3
When I turn the base on, this is the loop it gets into:
1. All 3 lights flash green
2. The power light goes amber and the other two go off.
3. Camera light (RHS) goes green while power is amber and internet light is off
And it jumps to step1.
Can you help me add or advise on this issue
Yours sincerely,

Why are you posting personal info (phone number) on the internet?
Given your description, I'd say the base is likely faulty. However, I would first check the power supply output for 12 volts DC and at least very close to 0 volts AC since a bad supply can do weird things.

If you have a subscription plan you can ask arlo customer support to check the serial number of your arlo device to see if it is still claimed by another account.

Hello,
Is there any news regarding the VMB4000 base station connection issue with the Arlo portal?
I had one of these stations that worked very well for years (firmware up to date). I had the opportunity to purchase a new one (never used), so I deleted the old one from my account.
The Arlo portal doesn't detect the new one and no longer wants to detect the old one ("").
In both cases, the LEDs are fine.
If this is a 'forced' blocking by the company, it's akin to planned obsolescence and would warrant a class action lawsuit.
Thank you.

Seems that the discussion thread has been merged into the common thread.
If you scroll up to best answers then refer to @BrookeN comments on how to proceed.
FYI, I am an arlo customer and not associated with arlo other than being a long time user.

I'm trashing my Arlo system. After getting help via @BrookeN and tech sending me updated base.... The new base on boarded perfectly and then promptly went offline after a couple weeks. The new base connects to my wifi fine but it refuses to acknowledge the cameras.
So I have finally given up and am moving to reolink.
I now have 2 bases that won't acknowledge cameras. The 4000 and the model above it which arlo sent me.
I super sad, because I loved the convenience of being able to move these around and not have wires my pets can chew.

I am going to post a long message but I did discover the root of many of my nondiscoverable problems and it is a different solution, so it may work for you and it may not.
Early on, some months ago and maybe years ago, I had one base station and 3 cameras and was having trouble with one of the cameras being discoverable. I called Arlo support and we tried all the standard resets and power ons and offs and nothing worked. Then the CSR suggested it might be a problem with my wifi signal and I completely dismissed the suggestion because all of my Speedtests showed robust up and down signal speed. So I gave up and ordered a second base station, then things worked. So fast forward a year or more and I added a non Arlo system and 3 more Arlo cameras to my two base stations and again started having discoverable problems. At some point I remembered that first tech telling me about bandwidth problems and got a new access point and put it downstairs and hooked my second base station up to it with a cable and everything started working again. Well life goes on and I add more devices besides cameras and base stations to the point I added a 16 port network splitter. Still the Arlos worked if I kept a couple or three running off a base station downstairs that was near an access point. Then my router failed and I added a mesh network system. Then I had a boat load of trouble getting my cameras and base stations back online. And that included my non Arlo camera system also.
My working solution was to attach a base station downstairs to my Mesh node by cable and adding a 5 port splitter down there so I could off load several of my devices from my 16 port splitter to that node by cable and network splitter that brought the use on my 16 port network down to 8 ports.
I am not smart enough to know the why of the sudden working of previously totally undiscoverable devices but I suspect it simply either gave them more wifi bandwidth or possible the relocation gave them a different port or IP address to avoid a conflict. So now when I have trouble with a device becoming discoverable I take it to the node downstairs that has less load on it and discover it there and then relocate it to where it needs to go and it will stay working once discovered. I know the theoretical limit to wifi support is something like 256 devices but for my 20+ devices I need to spread that load out quite a bit to get everything to work as it should.
Hopefully this will work for some of you having discoverable problems.
