Can you set up this sytem to run off of geofencing and then automatically switch to scheduled modes for the late night until the following morning?

srcauthon,

It sounds like within Geofencing you would want to set your "Away" mode to "Armed" and your "Home" mode to "Schedule". This would accomplish what you are describing.

Thanks James.  That will work.  Now, if I can get it to work with 2 I-Phones.  I'll be watching for new information on that one.

I saw some posting about the possible need to remove one or both phones, save and then add them back.  I tried that and my system seems to be working correctly now.  We have two phones set up for geofencing.  When one or the other is away, the system notes it and does nothing.  When both are away, the system activates as it should.  When either one or both phones return, the system reacts correctly.  Seems all is well at this time.  Thanks for all the posts on this topic.  It has been very helpful.

Does anyone know what happened to the geofencing stuff?  I had it working for the past week or two with two phones and it was working like I thought it should.  Then, yesterday, the whole thing started acting up.  It wouldn't recognize one phone but the other was fine.  Later, they switched places and the latest shows that neither phone is recognized.  The system says "unavailable".  I have tried about everything I know to do to get it worjking again but it is being stubborn.  Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks,

Steve

srcauthon,

Consider refreshing the enabled devices in your Geofencing settings. Disable all listed devices, save, and then enable all devices again.

Also be sure that your app is logged in and running on your mobile devices to allow Geofencing to update location. Geofencing will not work if the app is not running.

Hi James,

I tried refreshing the phones in the app and I didn't get it to work.  When it initially did work, I had the same USERID on each phone and the apps didn't have to be running for it to work. The issue with having the apps both running is that if I sign in on one phone and then sign in on the 2nd phone, it kicks the original sign in off saying you have signed in from another device. Do I have to create a second account in order for both to be signed in and running at the same time or does the app just have to be running and not necessarily signed in?  If I need to be signed in on both phones, how did it work in the first place?

Thanks,

Steve

srcauthon,

Take a look at this article for instructions on how to set up Geofencing on multiple devices: How do I add and manage multiple mobile devices for geofencing?

Hi James,

I ended up resetting the base unit and the phones showed up again.  The system appears to be working fine now and paying attention to both phones as to their location.  It responds accordingly and the app does not have to be running on either phone.  By putting the app on a device, it appears in the list of selectable devices for the geofencing.  I have the app on 3 devices and have selected to use 2 of them.  So far, so good this time around.  BTW, all 3 of the devices are using the same userid and password to access the app.

I'll keep you posted on how this works out over time.

Thanks,

Steve

Having the app running can mean one of two things - 1) you used the log out feature of the app or 2) you simply swiped it away or used the home button, etc. without logging out.  The former will prevent the app from doing anything including push notifications as well as geolocation monitoring.  The latter will keep the app running in the background so these operations still work.  Basically, never use the logout function without very good reason.
