Hi, I have the latest firmware installed that allows the camera to be "off". The mode was still armed, but like I said, the camera was off. As I left the room, I definitely saw the red lights (infrared) lights on the front of the camera glowing brightly, as if the camera was recording.

How worried should I be the camera is hacked? How could the lights be on, if my camera was off? Like I said, the mode was still armed when I turned it off. I did not get a notification of a recording. If the mode is "armed", but the camera turned to "off", does it still set of motion detection? This is the first time this ever happened that I know of, but I normally had my camera unarmed before turning it off, just to be sure.

Haven't thought of this.  The mode is on but the camera's off.  Sounds like motion detection is still on, just no recordings.  Dunno if this is by design or a flaw.  In any event, it's rather unlikely the camera is hacked.

Thank you, i have a feeling you're right. Unless mode is set to disarmed, the motion detector may still go off. What's alarming is that if I check the motion detector to on in settings, it overrides the "camera-->off" setting. Hope this is fixed with the next update. Quite glad they finally offered the option to turn off, but as this is new, obviously still a few bugs in the software.

The only way to be sure is make sure it's set to disarmed before turning camera off.

No recordings or live streams can take place when a camera is switched off using the privacy mode. For details on this feature see here: How do I use the Arlo privacy feature?
