Dear Arlo:

I got a "replace batteries" notice from my account for my Arlo camera.  I replaced the batteries with 4 brand new CR2 Energizer Lithium batteries, now nothing happens, camera is dead.  My account still says I need to replace the batteries in the camera.  Cannot sync the camera to the base.  After replacing the batteries, I pressed and released the triangular sync button onn the base unit, the camera sync button on the base unit flashes green.  I then pressed the sync button on the camera, nothing happens, no blue light, nothing.  My account still says the batteries need to be replaced in ther camera.  I tried another set of batteries, still nothing happens on the camera.  The camera has failed after consuming one set of batteries, in about 6 months time.  I am a registered user on Arlo so my account information should show you how fast the camera failed.  Please send me a RMA so I can return the defective camera and please send me a replacement camera right away, as the protection I should be getting from the camera has failed.

Arlo Camera, Model No: VMC3030.

Thank you,

Glenn

PLEASE don't post personal information on the web!!

From what I see on energizer.com, these are the wrong batteries.  You should be using 123 batteries - see http://www.energizer.com/batteries/specialty-batteries/lithium-photo-batteries#cr2 for what the different batteries replace.  An ad on Amazon indicated the CR2 batteries are 750mAH which is only half of the 123-type batteries.  They may also have a different size.

Thanks, I will try the CR123 batteries.
