Any way to fix this. It always stops after 10-12 seconds, even when motion continues beyond that. Supposedly it should continue recording motion for up to 5 minutes.

But then when I do the 2 minute recording option, it’s just a lot of nothing and a battery running out sooner.

Just want them to record the stuff that’s happening and not record when it’s not happening.

The 10-12 second recordings are due to motion not being able to be detected by the camera. It's not your eye that counts - the camera has to be able to detect it.

You need to troubleshoot what's causing the recordings.  A frequent possibility is the sun's IR being reflected off cars, leaves blowing in the wind, etc. Minimizing the camera view usually helps but you may also need to reduce motion sensitivity in your modes and rules. Of course, as the sun moves during the seasons this may solve itself.

A timed recording is frequently a good solution to this issue but you first have to do the troubleshooting to help. Unless you are getting a ton of recordings, the timed ones really don't affect battery life too badly - almost all of mine are timed with no issue. Getting rid of the mechanism(s) causing false triggers/recordings will reduce battery life a whole lot more.

You may also consider externally powering the camera to address the battery drain issue.

The Cameras generally stop recording if constant motion is not observed when using the until motion stops function as you have found. The recording duration of 10sec should really be adjustable to make it useful. I.e. additional motion within 60sec.
