Beeblebrox,
We intend to add HomeKit and Base Station/SmartHub support in a future firmware release but I do not have an ETA for availability. Once we have more information to share an announcement will be made here on the community.

Can it be top mounted on a ceiling or only side mounted on a wall? My two outdoor lights are top mounted so to replace them with this I would need something of a similar configuration but the only images I can see so far have all been wall mounted.

It can be ceiling mounting. See the quickstart guide:

What happens if one of the lights goes out? Can it be replaced or does a new light need to be purchased?

Since they're LED lights, it's rather unlikely, although possible, for them to die early. In any case a new kit would be needed unless you're really handy at taking things apart and fixing them (not recommended).

Does the camera component itself have an internal battery so that if power goes out its still able to record? That seems to be the main downfall with these sorts of domestic wired setups - especially when disabling the power mains is something a lot of burglars do prior to breaking into a house.

This camera has no internal battery. Plus it connects to the internet via wifi. So you would need some investment in UPS (or a generator) to keep the equipment running during a power failure.

I've tried to buy this product at Amazon, JB Hi-Fi and PB tech in New Zealand/Australia. It's out of stock everywhere with no new date for arrival. Has it been discontinued or is it just the worst product launch in history?

No, just not there yet.
