I do have Video door bell connected to base station. It records video in usb but to view videos I have to manually dismount the usb and connect to the PC and go by time stamps. Its year 2021, we still dont have direct storage access via app? Any other method or network technique works ?

I believe it's a hardware limitation since these bases were well before the doorbell and local access via the app. A VMB4540 and 5000 will work fine without the need to safely eject the drive.

Or may be just software/firmware developer do not want to touch. NASA’s Mars Perseverance rover used processor from 1998 and they can read data far from another planet 😀. If it linux based hardware i think it should be just firmware should fix that.
