Got a few tamper notifications in a row and then got disconnected. Tried reinstalling.

I just bought a Arlo door bell. We installed it and everything was working fine for a few hours. Then I got a few tamper notifications in a row and then it disconnected. We took is back off and reinstalled making sure the wires are connected. Seemed to work at first but then I got a single tamper warning around 8pm. At 9pm we tested and it was working fine. By the next day it was disconnected again. Not sure what is going on here. Any advice?

We ended up replacing the inside house doorbell chime and transformer and that fixed the issue thus far. Since doing that the Arlo unit has worked great. Just posting this for others who might be having the same issue.

 

Here is what we had to buy:

I'd suspect a marginal transformer voltage as the cause. Use a voltmeter to verify it's in the 16-24v spec. It's possible that a loose connection between the transformer and doorbell could be the cause or the transformer just needs to be replaced.

Thank you so much. My husband tested using a voltage meter by touching the 2 screws on the back of the doorbell and it said 24v. We pressed the reset button on the doorbell and then the lights just flashed amber and white for an hour and then it went unresponsive. So I suspect that the doorbell has power available, but not using it. I heard there is an internal battery. It sounds like it is defaulting to the battery and dying. Any other ideas to try?

Following a reset, the doorbell has to be claimed again. Did he hold it for >10 seconds until the ring LED started flashing? If so, remove it from Settings, My Devices in the primary account and go through the setup procedure again.

 

It's also possible it's just a faulty device so swapping at the store may be needed.
