My doorbell chime uses a diode in order to play the full tone.  I recently installed the Arlo Video Doorbell (AVD) and had to remove the diode in order to get the doorbell to function properly.  With removing the diode our doorbell chime does not play the full tone is there a way that the AVD can function with a chime that requires a diode?

Thank you

Perfect Thank you!

Come to find out the app was set to digital, but the timer was only allowing 4 sec of the chime to play which was not long enough for the full tone to play.

  1. What are the specs for your transformer?
  2. What manufacturer/model is your chime?
  3. Did you install the doorbell power module?

1. What are the specs for your transformer?

Transformer is a Utilitech Doorbell Transformer Model# LE-125C-A. It can be hooked up to use 16 VAC or 24 VAC, I have it hooked up on 16 VAC right now. This transformer is brand new.

2. What manufacturer/model of your chime?

Hampton Bay, Model# HB-7612-02

3. Did you install the doorbell power module?

Yes

Ok.  Did you check that the "traditional chime" setting for the doorbell was set to "digital"?
