My doorbell updated to firmware 1.14.3.0_557_7a263ee_58dd815 and I am no longer seeing activity zones function under the video settings. I am on the latest iOS app 2.15 on an iphone 11 pro.
Anyone else seeing this? Anyway to fix this issue? Ive tried logging out and deleting the app and still no luck.

YES!!!!! I'm getting countless false alarms of motion outside my activity zones. Called customer service several times. Emailed customerservice@arlo.com multiple times. Nothing. Your customer service is worse than useless.

For those still experiencing issues with Activity Zones, please take a look at the following KB articles for best performance and troubleshooting tips:
How do I troubleshoot problems with Arlo activity zones?
What are activity zones and how do I create them?

James,
I notice neither of those two KB articles reference the AVD1001 as a supported device for activity zones. So that's my first question. Does the AVD1001 Video Doorbell support activity zones?
Second, I've tried a number of those recommendations on my own and none of them have worked. I still constantly get alerts for activity well outside any zone I've created. I even turned off notifications for the general "motion detected" alert because that was the one I get most frequently. Well guess what, all of a sudden all those cars driving by in the street are generating an "Animal Detected" alert!! So the number of push alerts to my phone has not gone down at all. The alerts feature is practically useless to me at this point, and if it wasn't outside the return window on Amazon I would send it back and buy a Ring Pro instead.

Yes, both on the webbed client as on the IOS app (just updated) I don't have access to the activity zones settings. The doorbell is on a three month-trial for Arlo Smart.

I've decided to give up on Arlo fixing the problem. I'm cancelling Arlo Smart today. My false alarms are just getting worse. I too updated to iOS14 and am having never ending false alarms - more than 25 yesterday alone.
Arlo seems content to take my money month after month while ignoring the problems. I wish I had never bought this damn thing. I've told all my neighbors, co-workers and friends. I've no doubt cost Arlo lots of money. I would not be surprized if their failure to fix this problem tanks their company. Lousy customer service is the road to failure.
The ultimate problem is not with the cameras. It's with the post-detection processing on Arlo's end. It's their software algorithms that are faulty and not able to determine motion outside the designated activity zones. My students could write better software.

Welp, I'm done too. Activity zones never worked, and the constant barrage of false-positive notifications due to traffic on the street became too much.
I've replaced my video doorbell with a different product from another vendor and I've canceled my subscription. It's nice only getting notifications when someone actually enters the activity zone or rings the doorbell.

...I cancelled my smart sub a few months back and my Arlo doorbell has been turned off ever since. Would be great to have one that actually works!

I've been struggling with this since the firmware update as well. The update coincided with my 3 month trial expiring and after the update, my activity zones also disappeared until this weekend. Arlo must have released an update which has corrected the issue for me so thought I'd post. The ability to revise my activity zones still does not appear on the mobile app however, logging into the web app (Settings> My Devices> Video Settings), the ability to change the activity zones is back. Seems to be working well again like before.

So, to clarify—after we bought the doorbell, it was free for a while but now we have to pay monthly to have the doorbell record anything ? Is that correct?

I'm having the same issue with my parents' Arlo doorbell with no solution in sight. Up until just recently, the notifications weren't out of control. Now, I can't even set activity zones without paying ten bucks a month? What a joke. I have an entire smart home setup at my house using Nest products and I'll swear by them. I had to get an Arlo for my parents because they didn't have a wired doorbell and the Ring isn't compatible with their Google Hub. Turns out, Arlo isn't as compatible as they advertised. Between the absurd pricing, predatory subscription services, and lack of device control and a UI/UX that's difficult for my parents to use, I will never ever give this company another penny. Buy something else.

Yes. But also, why would anyone have to pay $10/month to set activity zones. that's a joke. Nest doesn't do that. Ring doesn't do that. You could not pay me enough to purchase another product from your company.
