Hi,

I have an issue with the door AVD2001 doorbell. I do not hear sound from the doorbell. The people standing in front of my door can hear me load and clear, but I do not hear what they say.

I have restarted, reset and reconnected my doorbell multiple times, but unfortunatly without succes.

I have shared the doorbell with my family, so all phones ring when someone is at the door, but no one is hearing sound from the visitor.

  1. Are you hearing audio in the recordings?
  2. Are you perhaps using Samsung phones?

If you have a bluetooth headset, then do a test using the headset.

Also double-check that the app has permission to access the phone's mic.

Hi,

1. I do not have a subscription (yet), so I cannot test

2. I use it on 2 iPhones (14max and 16pro) and 1 Samsung Galaxy s24+. They all have the same issue

I checked the permissions.... But: I assume the mic is needed to speak to the people.... that's working. I cannot hear them talking to me.

Sorry, I got that backwards.

This issue is commonly reported with Samsung phones, but I haven't seen posts about this not working on iPhones.

If you have airpods or other wireless earbuds that can take calls, then I recommend testing with them.  If your car connects to your phone with bluetooth, you could alternatively try that.

I will try with airpods or maybe from my car when I drive home from my work. I will report back later. Thanks!

I tried with my AirPods, but also then no sound.

Provide a screenshot of the doorbell's settings for audio. Also, provide a screenshot of the call screen when you've answered the doorbell. Finally, when playing music, say Youtube, can you hear any sound (so, check that your media volume is up).

Yes volume is up, when playing YouTube I can hear sound without issues… 3 phones have the same issue is not the phone that is at fault.

these are the settings:

Again I removed my doorbell and reconnected it, but without success. I tried with my Hub (VMB4000) and without my Hub (direct to WiFi). All without success

Undo 'Microfoon dempen' and 'luidspreker' and try again.

Are you hearing sound in recordings made by the doorbell????

I checked my videos that are recorded and also there is no sound on the video's. There is sound on the recordings from my camera's (Arlo Pro and Pro2).

Strange thingIMG_7C8EA21740AE-1.jpeg I also notice is an icon with a music note and a stroke.... (see photo)...

The fact that the musical note is gray indicates it's not active. Perhaps some setting is muting the doorbell mic? Check the Audio Settings in the camera settings to ensure the mic is enabled.

Yes, the sound note means it is not in silent mode because when I activate silent mode the note is lit.

all settings are correct. I changed them all just to try.

Then there are two causes: a) your phone's permissions are blocking access to the doorbell's mic; or b) you have a faulty doorbell. I'd double check your permissions (even remove the doorbell from the account and uninstall the app, having previously cleared its data and caches), then try the doorbell connected to both SmartHub or router, and if the same result, then it's faulty.

If it was phone permissions the it should be working on the video on the usb in my hub. That doesn’t work. Tried everything else so I think then it is faulty…

I agree - no audio in the recordings rules out the phone permissions on the mic.

You've double-checked that the mic is enabled in the doorbell Audio Settings?

If it is enabled, then it could be a defective doorbell.  You could try the factory reset procedure.

I suggest using the reset button if you try this:

  1. remove doorbell from account
  2. release the doorbell and use the reset button
  3. re-add the doorbell to the account.

Removed and readded 3 times now… also with factory reset.
tried it on my iPhone a d on my wife’s Samsung s24…

also no difference directly connected to WiFi or with hub.

only difference between direct WiFi connection and hub is that it updates the firmware as it is run with WiFi, and downgrades it again when connected to hub.
