First of all, my model number is AVD2001 - I don’t know if that will make any difference.
At the moment I only have the doorbell.
As I understand it I need to buy a smarthub like the VMB5000 to have a chime inside the house as well as on my phone.
Is this correct? Is there any other way of doing this?
Also, do I need to buy the hub in order to add further cameras at home?
Thanks

No. The chime 2 (AC2001) will work without a base. https://kb.arlo.com/000062573/Arlo-Chime-2-FAQ

It depends on which cameras you purchase. Arlo Essential and Pro 4 cameras (and the Pro 3 Floodlight) can connect to your home wifi.
Though smarthubs do make some things easier to manage.
