Then it will always be some battery drain - even if you turn the camera off in the video settings, it still needs to keep the wifi radio on. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to turn it on again.
The bulk of the power use is capturing and streaming video (whether that is being recorded or not). Note activity zones do not affect battery life, as they are applied in the Arlo cloud. Video is streamed to the cloud whether the motion is in-zone or not - the cloud supresses recordings and notifications if the motion is out of zone.
But the power drain should be slight if the doorbell camera is disarmed and you are not livestreaming.
