Arlo wireless video doorbell won’t connect to Smart Hub

I have a Smart Hub (VMB5000r5 with the latest firmware, 1.16.5.7_946_a530306) and the Arlo Essential wireless doorbell (AVD2001)

I installed the doorbell with WIFI and updated the firmware on it as well, but when I remove the device and reconnect it, I get no option to connect to the Smart Hub? The smart hub is connected with Port Forwarding.

Is this a known issue? How do I get it connect to the smart hub?

The AVD2001 doesn't have that feature at present.  Arlo is saying they are planning on adding it, but hasn't said when.
