We live in a gated community and want to use Ultra cameras at each of three gates to record entry and exit of vehicles. We would have 4 Ultra cameras and a base station at each gate house, wired to internet. Our test show difficulty reading the vehicle tag numbers at night. Images are washed out, even with the spotlight turned off. Anyone have similar experience reading tag numbers at night?

Highly reflective surfaces will always be an issue. You can try reducing the brightness setting for the cameras but remember that is global and will affect daytime, too. I would think the only real way to solve the issue would be to increase the ambient light.
