hi there ,

I recently purchaced the arlo ultra 4 camera set with smart hub . While i am very happy with the perfomance of the cameras , i still have one that does not seem to catch all it should. I also dont seem to be recording locally at all even though ive got it turned on in the settings . Now back to the single camera , ... it does seem to have a much lower signal than the rest . Could this be the issue as to why it is not recording every event? is there a range extending device i can use for this? Any advice is much appreciated .

Remember that people detection is out to ~25 feet if the sensitivity in your modes and rules is set to 100%. If not sure how to change this, read the FAQs here about this topic and many more. Basically, use the Mode tab, click on your hub and edit the active mode, Armed by default. Be sure to save at any point where offered.

Camera positioning is also important. The lower 2/3rds of the camera view is where motion can be detected. Folks sometimes don't have enough of a downward angle, trying to get too much of a view rather than concentrating on the real area of interest (you usually don't need to see cars on the street or airplanes in the sky).

A camera struggling to maintain connection can be an issue but not with detection - it would be in the video length/quality. If you need to raise the signal strength, repositioning the hub and/or camera can help. Alternatively, a second hub positioned closer to the camera could be used.
