I have three Pro 2 cameras on my hub.  I purchased the subscription to save images.  If I wish to add a couple of Arlo ultra cameras do I need another base or will they connect to the internet themselves?

Ultra and Ultra 2 cameras need a base - they cannot connect to your home wifi.

If your base isn't compatible with the Ultra, than you would need to get a newer one (preferrably a smarthub).  You can find out if it's compatible by looking at the info here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility

Alternatively, consider the Pro 4 camera - it is only 2K, but it can connect either to your home wifi or a compatible base.
