Hi,
I'm unable to view locally stored videorecordings. App crashes everytime.
Tried reinstalling app, formatting microSD card.
All other things work except locally stored videorecordings.
They worked to watch, after press download in app for appr 3 weeks.

The symptom where viewing locally stored videos causing the app to crash should now be resolved with Arlo app version 5.4.2.
Please make sure you have the latest version of the Arlo app installed.

This symptom has been identified and a fix for this is coming soon. The update is in a slow roll out phase at the moment and looks to be completed soon.
Thank you for your patience

Hi all, if I go to watch any recording on my phone it is crashing the app. Been doing this 2-3 days now. I have done all the things - update, uninstall, reinstall, turn off phone... am out of ideas. I'm on an Android. It is still working for my partner on their iPhone. Any ideas?
App update 5.4.2 fixes this.

Now when I restart my base device from within the app, my base station doesn't come back online..
It's always something with this thing. I'm so ready for a new system. If I could afford one now, I'd buy something else.

I'll be interested in hearing more about Eufy products. Do they offer a 4K camera, wireless? Etc, I suppose I can look online myself. I've also considered Nest, and Wyze to name a few.
Arlo is no longer an option for me unfortunately.

but then you are on subscription and won't be able to see if there are issues from a non-subscriber perspective.

I have to unplug it and then plug it back in. When I was home earlier I was able to view my cameras love, see my recordings (locally stored).
And as soon as I left I thought you myself, did I forget to turn my front door camera back on, went to check in the app to make sure and it said it was offline.
So from going to working right before I left my Wi-Fi to on Cellular driving down the road it somehow stopped working.
I'm at work right now, so I wouldn't know if someone was breaking into my home or not..it's just not a dependable product.
I will admit I did buy a refurbished set of 2 cameras and base station off of Amazon 3.5 years ago, so that could be why I'm having so many issues.
But after being on these forums, it's not just my setup, many others that purchased brand new equipment are having the same issues if not worse..

What's even weirder, is when I just got home now, my cameras are recognizing movement and the camera's flashlight or flood light or whatever you wanna call it, is coming on. So it's acting like it's recording but I'm not getting the notifications because the app is showing my system as offline.

And the base station shows an amber light as opposed to the online blue light.

Check if the extender has dropped the connection. You might need to power-cycle the extender.
The extender and the hub are very close, so it is also possible that the two devices are interfering with each other.

It hasn't, I'm currently connected to it. And it has connectivity as I turned off my cellular data to check it.
It has done this before I even bought the extender, so I know it's not that..

Can you ping the base?
When you say the system is offline, are you talking about just the cameras? Or is the base station off-line as well?

Well, good news and bad news. I am now back on 5.4.2_28786 after downgrading to 5.3.3. I thought I had turned off auto-install in the Play Store, but come to find out the latest version was re-installed. I can now view recorded videos from the base unit as before. Go figure.

Thanks StephenB. It is nice to find clear respond that there was indeed a bug. Saves our nerves. It might save more nerves if ARLO could have informed this issue actively to all users. Is it so that nowadays poor repond or too agressive cloud sales might initiate rumors or degrease sales ;(

What exactly is it that is not working for you, with 5.4.2?
