Is anyone still seeing the duplicate devices still? If so please send a screenshot of the devices that need to be removed as well as the the user id and a list of the devices that are needing removed. ( They can not be friends devices) Send all this information by dm. You send a dm by clicking on the envelope icon on the top right of the forum page.

Just to update on the latest tech support advice ... Duplicate devices have to be removed from the friends device, they cant be deleted from the main account/device even though the app indicates that they can. Once the device list is clean, GF appears to function now but given the past inconsistencies and upgrade regression failures I am not confident that this will last!
so can I ask a few questions here?
- is your app coming with "feed"?
- when you have device list for geofencing "cleaned up", how many devices do you have? Are they android/iPhone ?
- when you have device list for geofencing "cleaned up", do you have users logging in the same account, or do you have non-primary accounts "shared" and granted access to the ARLO environment?
- your GF appears functioning now --- how long has this been now?
- do you have "automation arrive" and "automation leave" in your GF?
Keen to clone your setup, if yours is promising 😋

Hi ... I have Arlo pro cameras and a wireless doorbell, two iPhones for my wife and I. I have the main account, my wife has a separate account and is added to the Arlo devices by a shared friends account. GF is now functioning and we can both see camera feeds and notifications of any detections when the system is armed. I have set up routines to arm overnight, and automations to set arm when we are both away from home, and to disarm when one of us returns home. This now seems to work OK but any duplications on the connected devices feed (which happened recently on my wife's iPhone but Arlo dont know why), will upset the automations and GF will fail, either on arming when we leave, or disarming when we return, or more usually on both. Hope this helps.

hi @Hallelujah , thanks for the reply. Does your app show "feed" or "library"? And for how long have your "Away" and "returns home" automations been working fine? days? weeks?

I have the latest app version 5.0.5 so I have the Feed version. Since duplicate devices have been removed, GF has been OK for me for a week or two now. I have found that any friend device needs to be regularly logged into the app (after a few days the app goes offline) or it tends to break the GF process.

hi @Hallelujah , you setup sounds very promising!
"friend device needs to be regularly logged into the app (after a few days the app goes offline)" --- logging into the app every few days is (sort of) fine to me, so long as GF is working 100% good when this friend device is not kicked out yet.
Curious if you have tried having both devices logging into the same master account? Would GF improve, for your setup?

I dont want to change my setup but I dont believe that dual access to the same account is secure. It would mean that each user would log out the other, so having separate accounts is how Arlo proposed this arrangement was setup.

I can share my experience that this is NOT the case. My android and wife's iPhone are now logging into my owner account, WITHOUT any issue regarding forced logout.

Maybe thats changed then since I setup my system (some while ago on the older app version). The previous advice from Arlo was to have two seperate accounts ... as mine is now working ok I think i will leave as is! Does your setup means that you only get one set of notifications?

It changed just a few months ago. If you are sharing the camera with a spouse, then I think it is a better path than using the "Friend" feature, as it gives you both full control. If you are sharing with others, then you probably should stick with the "friend" account.
Notifications, etc should work just as they did before.
